⏪Major time skip⏭
It's been days since I've heard news of anything. The walkie's have gone dead on my line. No one has been to work in a while other then me. It was like the world froze, but not for long. As I was leaving for work the ground started to shake. I ducked looking around as I heard screams. The earthquake lasted for over 10 minutes. As it started to settle down I ran home. "Y/N-! Thank goodness your ok-!" Mom hugged me as I looked at the tv. That's when it met my eyes, the large gaping holes forming across the world. My heart started to beat fast as I ran upstairs and locking my bedroom door. "DUSTIN, DO YOU COPY!?" I yell into my walkie talkie. It was silent for a couple minutes. "Y/n....we're in big trouble.." Dustin's voice spoke as he unlocked the door and saw me on the floor. "DUSTIN, YOUR OKAY-!" I ran and hugged him but he moved me a bit. "W-What's wrong...?" I looked at him as his eyes watered up. His hand extended as he held out a familiar item. It was Eddie's guitar pic necklace. "I-I'm sorry.." he cried as he handed it to me. As I heard those words my heart dropped. "H-He was a hero...it was his year..." he whispered as Steve put his hand on his shoulder. I couldn't speak, my mind couldn't comprehend what was happening. "We are gonna have to go back in a couple of days with the others...but he won't be coming with us" he spoke comforting Dustin. A tear fell down my cheek as I gripped the necklace in my hand. I sniffled as Dustin and Steve pulled me into a hug. That was day, Hawkins fell apart...
