ONESHOT: My theory is he is going to come back as a vampire, or something similar... hear me out! In the first episode, in the d+d scene where they did a hint to Eddie's death and the Metallica scene, a character is mentioned in the campaign: Kas. This character fought with a sword and shield (like Eddie), and died. He then came back to 'life' as a vampire bc he was killed by a demobat....... Deja vü anyone? Also, (I think it was on Eddie's jacket) the brothers indicated towards the Iron Maiden album Somewhere in Time, which is filled with song titles that can be used to explain a situation where Eddie is alive in the upside down (eg. The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner, A Stranger in a Strange Land, Wasted Years, Deja vu etc.)
A coincidence? I think NOT! Often, when there is detail in the show about the opening d+d game, it usually reflects the shows ending. Think back to season 1..

But like, make it hard smut 🤭

Eddie opened his eyes, crusted dirt and blood creating resistance.

All at once, sensation rushed through Eddie's body in a riveting wave. He blinked away the darkness as textures and scents and tastes and thoughts and everything rushed into his consciousness, and the world spun and thundered around him for a moment. Red clouds bunched above him, and he could hear shrill howls to his right. Bizarre things inflicted his mouth and nose, of soil, old fluids and bitterness, storms, but now he could also detect the new scent of life, of heat, blood moving through veins, oxygen spreading through the vessels, hearts beating, the pulses of living things as they breath with him.......but no..he wasn't actually breathing, he realised. His lungs felt like stone, stiff and sore, and if he forced air through them, they just pushed them up for his exhale- his body without the familiar need for oxygen to keep going. With the shock from this new knowledge thrust upon him, he jumped up, suddenly terrified. His boots sunk into the soft earth, and his habitual breathing quickened. As he looked out onto the crimson landscape, he noticed the slits of roiling fire cut in an x across the low sky. Piles of rubble, buildings gouged of their skeletons, collapsing roofs and powerlines strangling formations of dark rocks and trees.  He then realised that he will still there. In the living nightmare, the upside down.

And also, he was dead.

But now he was not. Blood still crusted his cheeks and rips, and when he reached down to run his filthy fingers across the wound, the deep gashes from the fucking bats was completely healed. He stared at hands, his fingernails chipped and black from dirt, the spiderwebbing cracks across his dry palms full of red dirt. Or blood, he couldn't tell. Eddie continued looking at his hands, the only things vaguely familiar in his current situation, intill the pain hit him.

Doubling over, it seared across his stomach, like being punched continuously in the gut by someone with spikes on their knuckles. It pulsed through his body, weakening his knees, making his hands shake as they grasped his lower front, heaving and coughing. Sweat dripped from his forehead, and as he licked it off his lips, something sharp struck his tongue. Blood beaded into his gritted teeth, but when he tasted it, the pain transformed into a pleasant fizz through his body, making his head spin. It almost felt like lust...a kind of hunger.

Hunger ........ he was hungry. The pain, if anything had a slightly similar throbbing as being starved did. But of course, he was smart enough to realise it wasn't for something good. The way his blood tasted, like something so sinful and amazing, but then followed by a disgusting aftertaste, was evidence suggesting he needed blood, but not his own......but the reason behind it scared him. What had happened to him? He had died, and now was standing, almost getting off on his own damn blood, for gods sake.

But no, he didn't have time to question it. He could feel his body begin to falter, his limbs were heavy, his brain a clump of smoosh. He was going to die again, and couldn't risk it. He was given whatever morbid second chance this was, so he needed to take it.
