During dinner Addison was seated infront of Jeremiah and next to belly and her mom.

Laurel- steven, I swear to God, if you look at that phone one more time, I'm putting it in the screen basket.

Susie- It's just, we want. to see your beautiful faces. Can diner be a no-screen zone.

Jer- steven!- Jeremiah said as he picked his phone and threw it like a basketball, it landed perfectly on the basket. Addison laughed, it was the first time she had interacted during the whole dinner and Jeremiah was proud that it was because of him.

Steve- dude, are you kidding me?

Jere- Boom! Nailed it.

Steve- okay, okay, okay, we get it you've been working out.

Addison- oh, you're just jealous because jere has a better body than you.- at this both susie and Jere smirked. Susie knew Addison and Jere were destined to be together.

Steve- Uh, no, actually, it's all about the lean look now. Otherwise, you can't wear tailored suits.

Conrad- tailored suits.

Steve- when are you leaving for training camp, man?

Jere- Uh, he quit football.

At this Addison looked at Conrad surprised.

Steve- are you kidding me, man? I'd- I'd kill to play college ball.

Susie- He can always change his mind.

Conrad- I'm not gonna change my mind. I was just gonna sit on the bench all season anyways.

Laurel- Well if you're not playing football anymore, what are you gonna do all summer?

Steve- Oh, dude, you can work at the club. Yeah, with me and Jere.

Jere- Yeah

Conrad- I'm not going to work in the club.

Belly- Wait, you guys are working this summer?

Jere- Yeah, I'm lifeguarding, and Steven's working at the snack shop.

Belly looked disappointed and Addison also kindafellt like this but was dazing of playing with her food.

Susie- Oh, belly, addy, I almost forgot. I have a surprise for you.

She then handed two envelopes to the girls.

Laurel- So, this is why you had to stop by the country club.

Steve- What, uh, wh-wh-what is that?

Susie- I wrangled addy and belly an invitation to be a debutante.

Belly- Is that the thing where the girls wear white dresses and curtsy?- she said while Addison stared blankly at the envelope.

Susie- It's when a girl comes of age and is presented to society. I-I know it sounds silly, but I swear it's fun. You both will make so many new friends.

Laurel- I cannot believe you are still holding on to this archaic dream.

Susie- No, it used to be about finding a husband, but now it's about networking.

Conrad- the whole deb scene is bullshit. It's for sheep.

Jere- Yeah

Susie- No, it's not. It's when a girl has a coming out, it's a formal recognition she's reached maturity.

 Then Steven started laughing.

Steve- oh, sorry, I'm sorry. Mature?

Susie- Yes.

Steve- My sisters? A couple months ago you had a cat funeral. Belly made us all wear black.

Belly- Shut up, Steven. I saw you crying in your room.

Jere- Wait, Mochi died? Dang. I'm sorry guys.

Susie- girls. Don't you want to get all dressed up?

Addison- I don't know if I'm feeling up to it- she said sadly.

Susie- come on addy, it will be a good opportunitie to get out of the house.

Addison- maybe.

Susie- belly come on, you have to try

Laurel- It's just not Belly's kind of thing. She's our feral little alley cat.

At this Steve and jere started to laugh as addy kicked them under the table

S&J- Ow!- they both exclaimed as Addison glared at them.

Belly- I'll think about it.

--

Addison went outside, she felt like she really needed a cigarette. She was surprised when she saw Conrad sitting on the pool smoking.

She lay besides him.

Addison- Can I have one?- she asked him.

Conrad- No way in hell.

Addison- fine- she muttered as she took one of hers, Conrad looked at her surprised, he wasn't expecting that his best friend that was a little sister to him to smoke.

She took out one and light it up, she started puffing slowly as she looked at him.

Addison- What's wrong with you?

Conrad- What do you mean.

Addison- I can tell something up.

Conrad- something is up with me? something is up with you, so how about you start talking.

Addison- I don't wanna talk about it.

Conrad- me neither

Addison-fair game.

Addison then saw belly coming towards the pool.

Addison- I better start getting ready, bye connie- she said softly.

Addison- all yours- she whispered to belly as she gave her an embarrassed look.
