"YOU LIKE STEVE?" octavia in a slight shout, earning a smack on the forearm from nancy. never in a million years did octavia ever think steve was the boy nancy was head over heels for. octavia's face was written with shock and disbelief, while nancy was laughing. "i'm sorry did i just hear you correctly?"
"oh shut up, he's not as bad as you think," nancy defends with a smile on her face, while covering her red-coated cheeks with the bed sheets. "why do you hate steve so much?"
"number one, he's a douche and number two, he spit his gum in my hair in the sixth grade." she explained to nancy, making her hatred evident through her words. the whole town of hawkins knew about their rivalry but never quite understood it.
"oh come on, that happened in the sixth grade! just move on and act like adults!" nancy exclaims while rolling her eyes.
"i'd rather stitch my eyes shut than be friends with him."
"can you just give him a chance, please?"
octavia sighs and made a disgusted face, "maybe, but, he has to prove to me that he's worth your time." this, of course, wasn't a good enough answer for nancy because she received a smack on the shoulder.
as their conversation continued for a few more minutes, it was interrupted by someone knocking on nancy's bedroom door. they both turned their heads towards the door only to reveal dustin holding a pizza box, "last slice, anyone want it?" nancy shakes her head while octavia got off of the bed.
she then turned to nancy, "alright nance, i'll see you at school." she walked over to dustin and took the pizza slice out of the box before muttering, "hi dusty, you ready to go?"
"yeah, but is it okay if i ride my bike home?" dustin asks while smiling. she returned the smile and guided him to the stairs with her hand gently placed on his back.
"of course, i'll drive behind you guys." she says as they reach the bottom of the staircase. "have a good night mr. and mrs. wheeler!"
after receiving a response, octavia and dustin walk up to the wheeler's driveway, where her car and the boys' bikes were. the party's attention soon landed on octavia as she walked over to her car. "now while you guys are drooling over my sister, there's something wrong with yours." said dustin, pointing at mike while walking over to his bike.
"what are you talking about?" asked mike, turning his attention to the other henderson sibling.
