She was half asleep when he finally called.
"Hello?" She mumbled, turning on her back to stare at her ceiling. "What's wrong, you didn't-"
He interrupted with, "Sorry about not calling yesterday. I was busy."
"At two am?" She frowned, catching on his lie.
"I was working a late shift." He explained, telling another lie. "Just lay down." He mumbled.
Soon her head was filled in a tale of a brother and sister lost in the woods.
She fell asleep that night, wondering why he would lie to her.
