IRENE'S POV

I woke up when I felt someone putting a blanket over me. I didn't open my eyes yet.

"I'm sorry Mom I wasn't able to make it to dinner. We had a party kasi to celebrate our first recital performance." She's still fixing the blanket.

"I will make bawi na lang next time. I love you" She kissed my forehead.

I can't pretend to be asleep anymore so I hugged her tight.

Nagkikita naman kami araw-araw pero I still feel like missing her.

"It's okay anak. I understand. I love you." I kissed the top of her head.

She was startled.

"Go eat na po, Dad will stay at the office daw po for tonight. Baka bukas na daw po sya makauwi dahil sa emergency sa company." She let go of my hug.

"Will you join me?" I asked. I'm hoping she'd say yes.

"Kumain na po ako eh, and I have a lot of things to prepare pa para sa lakad namin ni Yanah bukas. You go and eat na po then sa room niyo na po ikaw matulog. I'll go to my room na din" She gave me a quick hug then went upstairs.

Nawalan naman na ako ng gana kumain kaya niligpit ko na lang yung dining table at umakyat na sa taas.

When I passed Celestine's room, it was a bit open. I heard her talking to someone so I took a peek inside.

Her lights are still on and may kausap sya sa phone habang nag-aayos ng bed.

"Celestine Anak." I called her as I knocked on her door.

She looked at me asking why.

"You finish that already, it's late na." I said with a low voice. She nodded.

I closed her door na and pumasok na ko sa room namin. I saw our family picture sa may nightstand and yung coffee na iniwan sakin ni Greggy kanina. I took our picture and sat on the bed.

"Ang liit mo pa dito anak. I miss your jokes na. I miss hearing your contagious laugh. I miss hugging you to sleep." I whispered.

I remember the day she went home crying because she forgot her school ID and hindi sya pinapasok sa school. She was with her dad.

"Mommy, they didn't let me in" She loudly complained.

Her dad took out a handkerchief and wiped her tears.

"She forgot her ID" He said smiling.

"But Daddy, that was just an ID. You have a picture of it naman on your phone but the guard won't still let me in!" She continued to complain. I laughed softly.

"It's okay anak. Stop crying na. Let's spend the day na lang here sa house. Bonding tayo sa may pool?" I invited.

"Really mommy? Don't you have work today?" She asked looking at me and her dad with those sparkling eyes.

"We'll cancel work to be with you." I carried her and kissed her cheeks.

I pointed the cookies to Greggy so he could bring some sa may pool area. We enjoyed so much that day. But now I can faintly hear those laughs. I'm starting to forget na how it sounds like.

I felt tears are starting to form in my eyes. I wiped it off.

"I love you my Little Moon." I kissed her picture and hugged it until I fell asleep.
