LORREINE'S POV
Another 3 weeks have quickly passed.
I will be fine and I told her to sleep.
When she woke up in the morning hindi pa rin ako nakakatulog and I'm still shaking kaya dinala nya na ko sa hospital. The doctor checked on me and naiba daw ang position ng bullet sa ulo ko. When he asked me what happened, sabi ko nauntog nung nahold-up ako.
He told me to attend regular check-ups sa kanya since he's a Neurologist and kung wala daw magbabago sa position ng bala after a month then worst comes to worst. The nerves on my brain would stop sending signals and I would be declared brain dead. Since then madalas na ring sumakit ang ulo ko and Clai is the one who always accompany me pag pupunta ng doctor.
"Okay anak bye. Take care ha, Mommy loves you." Tita Irene ended the video call with Celestine.
I wouldn't be here for long anymore.
Tita Irene snapped her fingers in front of me.
"A-ano Tita, I was just thinking about something lang po." I smiled.
Wanna have lunch with me? I'll message your Tito Greggy too if he can join us." She offerred.
I just nodded in response kaya nag type na sya sa phone nya.
"Let's go." She took my hand and we went out of the office.
As usual, I drive for her. Pero good thing naman is she can ride shotgun na dahil hindi na sya masyadong affected sa bright headlights. Hindi na rin sya nagkakapanic attacks, but her heart condition, we all know is not getting any better. But we are in line na for a heart transplant, naghihintay na lang ng donor.
"Anak will you go with us ni Tito mo sa Ilocos next week? " She asked.
"Y-yes po. I think I can naman. Unless s-something c-came up." I stuttered.
"Why are you stuttering anak? Masakit ba ulo mo? Are you sure you're okay?" She's now getting worried.
"Daming tanong Ta. Nandito na po tayo." I changed the topic.
When we got inside the restaurant we immediately saw Tito Greggy at a table. He waved at us.
"Hello pretty ladies. Take a seat na. I'm sure you are both hungry." Tito Greggy pulled a chair for Tita.
Nagk-kwentuhan lang kami habang kumakain. Mula rin kasi nung galing kaming Ilocos Tito Greggy and Tita Irene treated me as their own child na. We always have lunch together pero sa condo pa rin ako umuuwi.
As for my parents, nalaman kong months after they cut off our communications naghiwalay na rin sila. They both had their own families and masaya na sila sa buhay nila ngayon.
"You know what, let's go to a sunflower farm in Bulacan right now. Kakabukas lang daw nun and I heard maganda naman." Tito Greggy invited.
"I think it's a good idea Love. Para makapag unwind din itong si Lorreine. Palaging masakit ang ulo eh." Tita Irene held my hands.
"Sure po. I would love that." I smiled at them.
Tito Greggy stood up.
We travelled to Bulacan and we are now in the Sunflower farm.
"Reine the bees are following me! Help!" Tita Irene shouted. Tito and I just laughed at her.
"Mukha ka daw po kasing sunflower!" I shouted back.
"Ah talaga ba? edi dalawa tayong magmukhang sunflower!"
"Tita no! Wag dito!" I ran. Takot rin ako sa bubuyog eh.
"Sa bubuyog ang pusta ko!" Tito Greggy shouted dahil mukha kaming nagr-race ni Tita at nung bubuyog.
Tita Irene catched me and tried to tickle me.
Tito Greggy reminded her.
"Pwede naman daw mahinang bump eh." Tita pretended to hit my head with her palm. Tito immediately stopped her.
"Love no. Kahit mahina wag na. It's delikado." Awat niya samin.
"Overprotective naman. Ang KJ mo Mr. Sir." She teased.
"Mr what?!" He's confused.
"Mr. Sir daw po. Tita Irene kasi is Miss Ma'am." I clarified.
"No! We are both Miss Ma'am." She argued.
"Nako enough of that na nga. There's an overlooking daw at the back of the farm. Pwedeng manood ng sunset. Wanna go there?" He invited us.
We both loved the sunset. It's a pretty sight bago man lang matapos ang araw.
It became our comfort.
