IRENE'S POV
"Oh my gosh Celestine! Long time no see! I missed you!" Lorreine stood up and hugged Celestine.
She hugged her back and smiled at me.
There's that smile again.
"Hi Love good morning!" My husband kissed my cheeks.
"Oh Lorreine, what brought you here?" Greggy made beso.
"Vacation Tito. Actually sa Pangasinan dapat kaso fully booked na lahat ng hotel and dito na lang may chance. Sakto naman na sa inyong reservation pala yung last chance ko." She explained as we all sat down.
"Naabutan ko sya kagabi nakikipagtalo sa receptionist. Wala nang ibang room at masyado nang gabi para hayaan ko sya magbyahe mag-isa kaya doon ko na lang sa room natin pinatulog." I elaborated.
"Mabuti pala nagkita kayo." Greggy said and called the waiter.
"How was Laguna anak? Did you enjoy" I asked Celestine who has been quiet.
"Lots of fun Mom and super busy, I actually met Tita Imee there. Sya din po naghatid sakin sa bahay." She said and typed something on her phone.
"Seems like it nga anak, mukhang napagod ka. Here, take my food para makakain ka na kaagad" I offered her my sandwich.
"No thank you, I'll just go to my room na lang I need some rest." She said and stood up.
"I'll accompany her na Love, just tell the waiter na sa room na lang dalhin yung food. I need to rest too." He said and kissed my head.
"Okay, take your rest na." I smiled.
Hinatid ko sila ng tingin hanggang sa hindi ko na sila makita. When I returned my gaze to talk to Lorreine ay wala na pala ito sa table namin.
"Kanina pa ba sya wala?" I wondered.
Hindi ko na tinapos ang pagkain ko dahil wala na rin naman akong kasabay. Hinintay ko lang yung waiter to tell him na i-deliver na lang sa room yung foods then I decided na lumabas muna at maglakad lakad sa may dagat.
I missed having a vacation. Na-miss ko magpahinga. Lagi na lang kasi stressed sa dami ng schedules.
Naupo ako sa bench sa may beach side at pinanood ang mga bata na naglalaro kasama ng mga magulang nila. Ganyang ganyan kami dati. Kahit pagod sa byahe, kakain lang kami sandali sa resort then didiretso na agad sa dagat.
"Celestine anak! dahan dahan naman sa pagtakbo, naiwan mo na kami. Ang init init pa!" I shouted as the little girl continued to run.
"Kaya nga swimming Mommy kasi mainit eh!" She shouted back.
"Anak mo nga yan HAHAHA" Greggy laughed and chased Celestine.
"At mag-ama nga kayo." Napapailing kong sabi.
"Dito muna at mag-apply ng sunscreen! Itong mag-ama na to oh!" I called the both of them.
"Coming Capitana!" Celestine ran towards me and gave me a hug.
"Capitana ka dyan? Who taught you that?" I asked.
"Daddy!" She pointed at her Dad.
"Capitana pala ah!" Binato ko sya ng sunscreen pero sinalo niya lang yun.
"You're so madaya naman anak, sabi ko walang sumbungan eh." We all laughed together.
Just how fast the time changes
Tumayo na ako at nagdecide na babalik na lang sa loob dahil baka dito pa ako sa kainitan ng araw mag-drama.
Habang naglalakad ako papasok, I noticed a narrow hallway.
Out of curiosity, I walked through it. It was another side of the lobby and may music hall. I saw a piano and thought I could play something for comfort.
I placed my fingers on the keys and without anything in mind I let them play the notes.
I smiled when I recognized what I was playing.
It has been a while.
