Naomi
The constant clicking of my heels on the marble flooring caused the interviewing lady to look up from her notepad.
I sat fiddling with the hem of my skirt and my leg was bouncing like crazy. I was tired as hell because I couldn't seem to fall asleep at all last night and I was starving because I ran out of time to eat.
"It's okay. There's no need to be nervous, this is a pretty laid back company." The lady looked up at me smiling playing with her pen.
"Okay so I'm Denice nice to meet you." She reached out her hand for me to shake. I grabbed onto her hand noticing her short French tip manicure.
She had bra strap length curly hair that she kept in place with a clip on the side. Her skin was caramel and smooth. She had straight teeth with braces on top meaning she was about done with treatment and she didn't look a day over 23. She wore a white blouse in which she kept the top two buttons unbuttoned revealing a little cleavage but not too much for the work space. She paired it with a black pencil skirt that had a small slit up the side and she had some black red bottoms to match.
"Naomi, nice to meet you as well. " "So I looked over the paperwork you sent in this morning and so did Mr. Green and he says he wants to speak with you immediately!" She said brightly.
My heart started skipping and a big dumb smile crept upon my face. I can't believe it! Already? This was just supposed to be a general interview but my paperwork got me past it and to the boss? This is GREAT!
"Wow that's great!" I smiled as she got up.
"Alright then let's hurry on up there! He's waiting for you." I got up with her.
We made our way to the elevator and noticed one was already open.
"Perfect." She said as we picked up the pace to catch it. We got in and she pressed the button for the highest floor which was 25.
The elevator had a mirror on the ceiling and back wall and the rest was gold. We had a silent ride up before the doors opened and there was a desk right out front.A little name tag on her desk read Shauna. However no one was there.
Whoever was supposed to be there was most likely who I spoke to yesterday.
We walked down the hall passing a restroom, break room, meeting room, and common area.
We finally made it to the end of the hall with a huge gold double door labeled "Elias Green".
As soon as Denice went to knock on the door it flung open revealing a dark skin girl looking flustered.
Her hair was in a slick back bun but she had some crazy fly always. Her shirt was undone a little, eye makeup was smudged like she had been crying, and her lipstick was all over her mouth and chin.
She stopped abruptly seeing us. "Hi Shauna." Denice said as if she knew something.
"Denice." They side eyed each other before "Shauna" walked away down the hall.
Denice lightly tapped the door before pushing it open.
"Mr. Green, this is Naomi." Completely opening the door she revealed the same man from the card.
Except he was much finer in person.
He sat behind his big desk in a black button down with the top 3 buttons undone. He had a toothpick halfway in his mouth resting gently between his white teeth.
His eyes darted from Denice to me. His eyes raked over my body starting from my hair all the way down to my pumps.
"Yes...Leave us." He stated in a deep smooth voice never taking his eyes off me.
She nodded before leaving closing the door behind her.
"Please, have a seat." He smiled gesturing to the chairs inches away from his desk. I nodded giving a small smile.
As I walked over to his desk my heart raced while my heels clicked on the floor. I sat down placing my hands in my lap.
My heart raced as I watched him gather a stack of papers.
"Here is all of your paperwork back." He slid them over to me looking at his laptop.
"Thank you." I set them in my lap feeling my leg begin to shake.
"Okay so I've seen everything I need to know about you and I want you on our team." He smiled looking back at me.
My heart fluttered as a smile appeared on my face.
"Are you serious?" I tried to contain my excitement. He nodded smiling even bigger.
"However due to your lack of experience I would like to have you work up to becoming a real estate agent." He gathered a new stack of papers stapling them together.
"Yes of course Mr. Green whatever I can do I'm ready." I perked up unintentionally.
"I will have you as my new personal assistant." He smiled handing me the stack.
"In this booklet is what your job will require, attire, and all the events and trips you must take with me. They are all pre paid for you of course." He smiled leaning back in his seat playing with the toothpick with his teeth and tongue.
I briefly flipped through the booklet before looking back up at him smiling.
"Great when can I start?" I asked causing a grin to come over his face.
