It's been a week since school started and Sonic feared every day to come, still unsure of how to reject Amy.

"Dude, you still haven't responded back to Amy?" Tails said sitting on Sonic's desk during lunchtime. The first week of school wasn't so bad, it went by pretty quickly in Sonic's eyes. Heck, it was already Thursday of the second week of school, which meant that the month had only two weeks remaining before October arrived.

Knuckles crossed his arms. "Personally if that was me, I would just give up on you and find someone else," Knuckles simply said eating his pizza rolls.

"Well, you better think of your answer soon before she comes to my house and sobs in front of my door," Tails said lifting his eyebrow. Sonic sighed putting his head down.

"Yeah, I'll tell her soon."

The bell rang, signaling that lunch has ended. Sonic quickly grabbed his backpack and dashed to his sixth period class, AP Lang. At least Mr. Shadow is a chill and polite teacher. This class will go by fast. Sonic thought, losing sight of what was in front of him, accidentally bumping into the person he had attempted to avoid seeing in person for a week.

"Ah!" Sonic grunted while falling backward on his bottom, bowing his head. He massaged his forehead, then recognized who he'd run into.

"S-Sonic! I didn't expect to see you here," Amy stood up to assist Sonic after cleaning up her scattered books from the floor.

Sonic laughed uncomfortably. "Haha, sorry about that, Ames," He apologized, smiling foolishly at the pink hedgehog. Please, please, please don't bring it up. Sonic prayed to himself, knowing what Amy was about to say.

"Uh, Sonic, I was actually gonna look for you later today anyway, but since you're here now, I guess I'll ask you..." The pink hedgehog started. Please don't please don't. Sonic started to sweat and fidgeting, hoping the pink hedgehog wouldn't bring up her confession.

The bell rang, indicating that they were late to class. Thank the lord.

"You can uh.." Think, Sonic! THINK! "Oh! You can come to tell me later... In, the uh, homework club! Yeah! The homework club after school!" Sonic grinned uneasily as he waved Amy away on his way to his AP Lang lesson.

"Wai- Okay, I guess.." Amy waved him away with a pained expression.

Sonic stormed into his AP Lang class, panting and gasping in relief, but quickly noticed everyone was staring up at him as if he were going to reveal some traumatizing news. Sonic shyly grinned and began to walk, but before he reached the first row of seats, Shadow called Sonic over to his desk.

"Well, you're awfully late," Shadow raised an eyebrow at Sonic, taking off his glasses in doing so. Sonic approached Shadow gingerly, rubbing the back of his head and nervously chuckling.

"Y-Yeah, sorry about that, Mr. Shadow. I had to, um, take care of something. It won't happen again," Sonic said clasping his hands together.

"That's all right, just take out the book we got yesterday and begin reading silently," Shadow answered, directing his gaze to the screen in front of him. Sonic nodded and flopped down into his seat at the back of the class.

"What happened?" Tails murmured, shielding his face from Shadow's sight with his book.

"Amy happened," Sonic said dramatically, taking his book from his backpack.

"Did you reject her?" Tails asked quietly.

"No."

"How come?"

"Before she could even bring up the subject, the bell rang."

"Oh," Tails replied, reclining back in his chair.
