Back at school again, yay.

It was weird being at school without Zed. Without zombies in general. The worst part about the events of that night, Bucky.

Bucky was purging anyone who wasn't anti-zombie, which completely changed the school. Addison told her what it was like in cheer squad, how everyone was like robots. Zombies were learning in the basement again, and soon, they would be sent back to zombie-only school. Nessa refused to believe it. She refused to believe that she couldn't see Zed anymore.

The cheer championship had just arrived and Nessa thought she would watch just to support them. By them, she means everyone but Bucky.

Nessa felt free. She had her hair down, all of it, perfectly straightened and flowing over her shoulders. No matter how many looks she got, from her parents or strangers, she would from now on do her own thing. No more fitting in.

Suddenly, she heard Zed's voice.

"I don't know Bonzo. She has to be here somewhere." Zed was looking for Eliza after he found out her recent plans to sabotage the championship. Nessa peered down and spotted him, which caused her to climb over a few seats to join him.

When she got there, Zed was already trying to convince Eliza to stop but Nessa had different ideas. "I say, do it!"

Her comment shocked all three zombies but Zed wasn't going to let it happen.

"No! It's not who we are. It's not who you are." He looked at Nessa with desperate eyes. "I'm not a monster, I'm a zombie. And you're a cheerleader. You're not gonna change the world through sabotage. You change the world through cheer."

His mini-speech made Nessa beam. She couldn't help but fall for his charms again. No matter what he did, no matter what he said, she would always be there with him.

They all returned to the stage to watch Seabrook and it was not looking good. With half their team missing, the stunts were off and there was empty spaces everywhere. The audience were belly-laughing at the troupe on stage, snorting at their misfortune. Bucky and the Aceys retreated to the back corner of the stage, frightened at all of the booing. Suddenly, a small person in a baby pink onesie stepped onto stage. Zoey.

"Let's go, Seabrook Cheer!" she exclaimed, waving her pom-poms above her head.

One rude audience member shouted at her, "Get off the stage, zombie!" but she didn't stop cheering. Bucky looked confused while Zed and Nessa looked like proud parents. Zoey was making the change that they hadn't done yet and it was amazing to watch. Zed smiled at her and soon enough, they all joined in.

Humans and zombies stood hand-in-hand on the stage, all cheering for what they believed in. Everyone sung their hearts out while flipping to victory and it was showcase of their talents, a showcase of things they never got to show off because of who they were.

An annoyed Bucky eventually joined the crowd. He just could not deny the spotlight even for one moment. Everyone's voice together got the audience on their feet, all celebrating their differences.

The song was almost over and Nessa's arms were getting tired, but she ran to the front of the stage with Zed and as soon as she looked into his eyes, she got all of her energy back. The audience roared as they finished, eyes gleaming in the lights.

And that was when Zed grabbed Nessa by the face and kissed her in front of everyone. Nessa smiled until her cheeks were sore and she wrapped her arms tight around him. She was his, and he was hers. They said they would be someday. Well, it seems like 'someday' has finally arrived.
