☠ Silence by the shore

Sunday, July 4, 1723

A few weeks to a month passed as Sorbet found themselves settling in their new family. Every day they would do their chores at noon after eating٫ get groceries and then play with their new friend until dinner was done. It wasn't that bad of a job٫ maybe a little annoying but it was the least Sorbet could do for Pomegranate and Dark Choco. After all, they gave Sorbet a home٫ food to eat, and a bed to sleep on. Currently, the shark had a wide smile on as they waited on the dock of the beach٫ hoping their friend would come by today to play in the sand and talk about the creatures of the sea.

" Sorry I'm late ! I kind of got caught up doing my sailor duties. " Peppermint said as they sat down next to Sorbet٫ exhaling sharply. They looked at them with a smile before laughing nervously. Sorbet only gave them a sweet smile back.

" I don't mind none٫ I enjoy listening to the ocean actually. Sure I don't like getting wet but it's still my birthplace. It will always call to me in some way. " They said as they stared out across the vast ocean as it sparkled and shimmered in their sight.

" Yeah Its truly beautiful. . . " Peppermint said٫ sighing as they looked at Sorbet's eyes reflecting the deep٫ blue waters. " You must feel so lucky to have come from such pretty and mysterious place. Not to mention being a shark٫ you practically have the entire ocean in your uh . . . claws ? "

" Being a shark ain't so great . . . It's hard to make friends when you're the scariest predator in the water. Everyone always thinks they're dinner when really I just want to talk. " Sorbet started to speak solemnly as they curled up their knees to their chest.

" Well, you can always talk to me. Shark or not, I'm here for you and I think you're really nice for a shark. " They placed their hand on their shoulder and gestured them to a hug. Sorbet smiled and gladly embraced them, softly purring at the touch.

" Hey, I know how to lighten the mood. Let's go get ice cream ! " Peppermint said as they tried to jump up and down to get Sorbet excited. They even swung them in the air, having the shark giggle at such a playful action.

" Really, right now ?! " Sorbet said getting starry-eyed as they hugged Peppermint tighter. Peppermint stared back at them with a wide smile. That smile . . . it was so warm and welcoming, it made Sorbet feel so happy, but why ?

" Of course ! You remember my favorite flavor right ? " Peppermint asked, the cheer in their voice seeping through. They always were like this with Sorbet, it was no wonder the shark has never seen this sailor sad before.

" It's blue raspberry right ? " Sorbet said, questioning if that was right or not. They remembered Peppermint talking about ice cream before but they completely forgot what their favorite flavor was, so they guessed what they were made of.

" Yeah ! Let's go ! " Peppermint said, lucky guess.

The two of them had to spend an hour sitting at the ice cream stand but the begging became worth it when Peppermint and Sorbet Shark got a single scoop of blue raspberry and strawberry ice cream. Sorbet started to practically maul their scoop of strawberry ice cream before Peppermint started to laugh at them, making them start to gently eat it instead. The cookie at the ice cream stand gazed at the two smaller cookies with interest.

" Hey Sorbet I think there's something in my ice cream, can you look ? " Peppermint said as they held up their ice cream as Sorbet took a closer look at it when suddenly the ice cream cone was shoved into their nose. They giggled and wiped the ice cream off. After they were done with their ice cream Peppermint grabbed Sorbet's hand and started to drag them off to the shores through the forests.

" Heheheh Peps where are we going ? " The shark bubbled as they were dragged through the vast forest full of life and nature at every corner. The forest was the most alive at night it seemed.
