☠ Hushed Bells

The hushed air flowed and circled around the area, piercing Sorbet's anxiety in a way that would only irritate it more. It was quiet, and Sorbet was pacing anxiously awaiting to be called out of their room. They were perfectly calm a few minutes ago, but suddenly they felt more nervous than a frozen can of soda waiting to explode. Nothing should go wrong, it was only a small get together at most, right ? Only close friends of theirs were attending this occasion so certainly nothing should arise, especially with the absence of Donnovan and Sean.

Still, Sorbet paced. What if Donnovan shows up anyways and decides to crash it ? What if they get rejected ? What if- Suddenly a hand was placed on their shoulder. Sorbet turned around to be met with Mango's stare. " Huh ? "

" Jack, calm down. There isn't any need to be nervous. " They said before sitting Sorbet down and offering them a glass of water.

" Easy for you to say Maverick . . . All you have to do is read from a book. " Sorbet said, obliging to take the glass of water and sipping a bit of it, yet they felt if they dared drink the entire thing they'd puke.

" Hey don't get your scales in a bunch, I'm sure everything will go fine. I'd say you're pretty smart for marrying your best friend, things should come easy to the both of you. " Candy Diver added.

Sorbet just looked at Candy Diver with a inquisitive look. " Didn't you used to say I was your best friend ? "

" Sure, but that's just because I wasn't friends with many other cookies. It was more of like, who else could it be but you. I'm sure that's how you feel about Marley. " They said with a smile.

" Yeah . . . Yeah you're right Martin. I'm just scared of something going wrong though, what if Marley isn't ready and they say no ? " Sorbet said.

" Trust me, they'll say yes. I mean they were practically obsessed with you back when we all used to go to school together. They'd constantly talk about their shark friend and how cute and interesting they were. I swear they were so vocal about it. Sometimes I could hear them from the quiet place with my books, interrupting me a good few times. " Candy Diver said with a slight chuckle.

Sorbet only blushed a little. " Really ? They liked me that much ? "

" Yeah ! I remember them talking about that ! Nobody dared pester them after they heard they were friends with a shark. Isn't that why the few of you came looking for Sorbet in the first place ? " Mango said.

" Actually, I talked to Sorbet one day and confirmed they were real and THEN everyone went looking for Sorbet. " Candy Diver said.

" Right . . . I remember our first conversation. You helped me figure out what happened to my parents. " Sorbet said.

" . . . Does your memory of them scare you as much as it does me ? " Diver asked.

" Yes . . . We shouldn't have gone looking for the reef to be honest. " Sorbet said.

" But we did. " Candy said.

" You what ? " Mango said, being thrown out of the loop. The other two just laughed and told them not to worry about it. " Hey Steven, why haven't you said anything ? You got married first so shouldn't you be giving them advice or something ? "

" Ah well . . . The only advice I can give you is that you should prepare to give up half of your rights to your spouse haha ! " Snow Sugar said. The rest of them started to burst out laughing as well.

" Believe me, Marley already takes up half the bed just to end up cuddling me at the end of the night ! " Sorbet said through laughter.

" Oh just wait, you're about to lose a LOT more ! " Snow Sugar said, laughing hysterically.
