Chapter One - Silentpaw

(A/N): Welcome to my official first chapter of the story! There will be a whole series based on it, I don't own the idea of warrior cats, the amazing Erin Hunter does. I've always wanted to write books like hers, so I made this one. The * is a Timeskip. Enjoy!

Silentpaw padded into camp, flanked by her mentor, Rosepetal. She carried a mixture of birds, mice, and voles in her jaws. She deposited them into the fresh kill pile. "Great job today, Silentpaw". Rosepetal purred, and headed towards Duskstar. "Salutations, Rosepetal. There is a rogue pack on the loose, Wanting a battle with our clan for part of our territory. We will have to battle. Is your apprentice ready for that kind of responsibility?". Duskstar asked. Rosepetal nodded, and froze as rogues formed some sort of battle formation outside the camp walls. Moonshade looked at her daughter, and looked panicked. Moonshade quickly went to the nursery, to protect it at any cost. Rogues filed into the camp, and one by one, the warriors of Dawnclan began to rage into battle. Silentpaw was tag teaming with Stormpaw, A friend of hers ever since the was born. They went head on with a rogue, and saw it flee. Silentpaw was pinned down by a rogue, it slashed it's claws along her flank, and she yowled on agony. "Let her go!". Stormpaw hissed, and took the rogue by the scruff, tossing it into a tree. Silentpaw fought to catch her breath. "Thank you, Stormpaw". She muttered, and flung herself back into battle. By now all the rogues fled, and Silentpaw barely had any wounds. "Let all cats old enough to hunt in the broad light of dawn, gather beneath great rock for a clan meeting!". Duskstar yowled. "I am on my second last life". He yowled. "Silentpaw, step forward please". Silentpaw stepped forward, and dipped her head to Duskstar. "Silentpaw. You've fought like a true warrior today. Do you promise to uphold the warrior code, and to protect the clan even at the cost of your life?". He asked, his tail raised for silence. "I do, And will, Duskstar". Silentpaw replied with pride. "Then by the powers of Starclan, I give you your warrior name. Silentpaw, from this moment on you will be known as Silentshade, A warrior of Dawnclan!". He yowled in return, leaping off the great rock. He touched noses with the new warrior, and climbed back onto great rock. "Stormpaw. Step forward". He purred to his son. "You protected a clanmate, and fought like a true warrior in today's battle. Do you promise to uphold the warrior code, and to protect your clanmates even at the cost of your life?". He asked softly. "I do, and will, Duskstar". He replied. "Then by the powers of Starclan, I give you your warrior name. Stormpaw, from this moment on, you'll be known as Stormshadows, A warrior of Dawnclan!". He yowled, and leapt down from the great rock. He touched noses with Stormshadows. "I knew you would make a great warrior, Stormshadows". Duskstar climbed back up to the great rock, as Dawnclan shouted. "Stormshadows! Silentshade!". They chorused. A yowl sounded from the medicine den, As Willowbreeze padded out of the den. "Rosepetal has gone to hunt with her ancestors". She reported sadly. Silentshade's heart dropped. Willowbreeze slowly brought the body of Rosepetal out by great rock. Stormshadows lent his shoulder for her to lean on. "I would like to elect a new deputy, then. I say this before the body of Rosepetal, so that she may approve my choice in Starclan. Silentshade, You have proven your loyalty ever since you became an apprentice. I hope you will be a great leader when my time to journey will our ancestors has come. I now name you, Deputy of Dawnclan!". Duskstar yowled. "Silentshade!". Stormshadows chanted. "I am honored to serve as your deputy, Duskstar". She purred, and was led to the warriors den by Stormshadows. "Goodnight, Silentshade". Stormshadows purred as they curled up into their nests. She was deputy of Dawnclan. Her hard work and dedication was all worth it.
