Chapter Two

So many people were based by us as we walked into a busy street. Sasha and I observed each shop... Eeylops Owl Emporium, Flourish and Blotts, Gringotts Bank, Borgin and Burkes, Ollivanders and so many more,  I thought, looking at the list.

"My parents gave me money we can both exchange this at the bank," I said to Sasha.

"I haven't got any money, though," Sasha replied.

"That's alright! We're going to both use mine!" I said, grabbing Sasha's hand as we ran into the street and straight to Gringotts.

When we both entered the bank I let go of her hand and the two of us looked around.

This place is humongous, I thought.

I tried to look professional and looks like Sasha did too. We both straightened our backs and walked up to the counter.

When we got there, nothing happened. Sasha looked at me, waiting for me to say something.

I cleared my throat audibly, "Excuse me-"

Someone looked down at us, "Yes?"

I slapped the money on the counter and said, "We would like an exchange... please."

He handed us a large bag of coins in return. Gold, silver, and bronze coins.

I pick up the bag, confused, "Could we have it in cash or..."

"That's just the currency we use," the guy replied and called for the next person in line.

I looked over at Sasha and she just shrugs, "At least we have money."

I nod, agreeing with her, we both walked out of the line and get back on the busy street.

"Where to next?" Sasha asked me.

"Ollivanders, we have to get wands," I answered and the two of us hope this isn't a dream, this is so amazing," Sasha said as we walked into the store.

We were greeted by a nice gentleman.

"Here to buy some wands, I assume," he smiled.

Sasha and I nodded yes, stepping up closer to the counter.

"The wand chooses the wizard," he said, handing us each a long box. I place the bag of coins inside my backpack and carefully opened up the box.

"For you, Phoenix core, 12 1/2'', and quite flexible," he told me. "And for you miss, dragon heartstring, 10 3/4'', stiff."

We stared in awe at our wands and I rummaged through my back to pull our 14 galleons.

"Is that enough for the both of us?" I asked and the man nodded yes.

Both of us waved goodbye as we left the store.

"What's next?" Sasha asked.

"The book store," I said, pointing to Flourish and Blotts.

The day went on like that, both going in and out of stores, spending our money on our supply list, and maybe a little extra stationary. What? We both have an obsession with stationery.

"The last shop," I said, walking up to Eeylops Owl Emporium.

"We can buy an owl? Oh my God, we can buy a frickin' owl!" Sasha blurted out in happiness. "I love birds!"

I laughed as we walked in, looking at the beautiful, they were supposed to be messengers and they would deliver our letters.

"Choose, quick, we need to get home early so we don't be late for the train tomorrow," I said.

"Can I get this one?" Sasha asked. "He's so pretty!"

I walked over to Sasha and looked at the owl. It had grey feathers and bright yellow eyes.

"He is so pretty! I'm choosing this one," I said as Sasha picked up her owl that was inside his cage.

I looked at the owl with sharp orange eyes and fur so white it was even brighter than snow. I petted its feathers softly and smiled.

"She's perfect," I said and picked up the cage.

I paid for our owls and turns out, we went under budget. We had a little bit of money left.

"I'm naming mine Oreo," Sasha stated.

"Oreo?" I said. "That's a nice name."

"What about your owl?" Sasha asked as we walked over to the brick wall to get back home.

"Well..." I said, thinking. "I was gonna say Slobberdobber but..."

Sasha burst out laughing, "Slobberdobber! That's not too pretty!"

"I know, I know," I said. "Well, how 'bout Artemis?"

"Artemis? Like part of the Greek Gods?" Sasha asked.

I nodded yes. Sasha smiled, "That's nice!"

We both walked over to my house.

"Y/N, I don't think my parents want me to come home," Sasha said, frowning.

I looked at Sasha and felt so bad. Why couldn't her parents accept her for who she was?

"You're always welcome to stay with me," I said and rang the doorbell.

Sasha smiled and stayed on the porch with me. The door quickly opened and my mom gave us both a large hug.

"I'm so glad you are okay!" my mom told us, letting us inside.

We set down our stuff and my dad came out of the kitchen.

"Hey! You're back!" he started and looked at the owls. "You guys... bought owls?"

Sasha and I laughed.

"Dad, they're messengers," I said. "That's Artemis and the grey one's Oreo."

My dad smiled, amazed. I looked at my mom and then my dad.

"Can Sasha stay?" I asked.

My parents looked at each other and looked at Sasha, "About that..."
