Chapter Sixteen

I sat down at the table with Sasha next to me. I rubbed my hands on my pants as my heart pounded rapidly. The note was in my pocket and the bag was next to my feet. 

Once Dumbledore made a brief speech, the students began separating from the Great Hall and into their dorms. It was the night before we got to go home for the holidays. 

"Y/N! What the fuck's wrong with you? Go!" Sasha stood up and pushed the bag into my arms. She then shoved me into the hallway and I bumped into Draco. 

"Draco... I-" I began and looked at him. 

He looked at me, confused. 

I cleared my throat and handed him the note and the bag, "Merry Christmas, Draco." 

After I handed him the stuff I briskly walked away from him and sprinted into the Gryffindor Common Room. Sasha was already there waiting for me. 

"So? what did he say?" Sasha asked, eager. 

"I, I just gave it to him and ran," I said and slumped. 

Sasha took one of my hands and squeezed it slightly, "It's a great start." 

Draco's POV

I took the bag in one hand and the note in the other. Before I could even react Y/N had already left. With the gifts in my hands, I walked to my dorm and placed them on the bed. I opened the bag first. 

It's a scarf... a green one... I then opened the note, it said: Hi Draco. Green is a nice color on you, it brings out your eyes. So I bought you a scarf. Hope you like it! Love, Y/N. Merry x-mas. 

I placed the note inside my suitcase and held the scarf in my hand; it was pastel green. It's lovely of her to think of me...

"Well, I was right," Sasha told me as she stepped into my house, taking her shoes off and setting them onto the rack. "My parents hate me." 

"Then don't hate you," I told her as I led her into my bedroom. 

"Yes they do, they think I'm a monster," Sasha replied. 

I sat on a chair in my room and Sasha sat on my bed, "Sash, you're not a monster, screw your parents, you've got me! You best friend who acts like your mother!" 

Sasha laughed a little, "You do treat me like I'm your daughter sometimes." 

I grinned, "See! It won't be so bad after all!"
