CHAPTER 2.

The sun was covered by the dark gray cloud. The speed of wind started to pick up and small droplets started to fall from the sky. Albedo was in the library, studying for his exams. "shouldn't you be getting home?" A voice from behind says, startling blonde. "Why do you keep coming from behind?" Albedo groans, taking his earphone out watching the man reveal himself in front of Albedo. "I have 0 idea what you're talking about" Kaeya says with a sing-song voice.

Albedo rolls his eyes in reply and returns his earphone to one ear and continues to study. "Albedo, it's quite the bad weather and apparently it will get worse, shouldn't you be heading home?" Kaeya asks, helping himself with a seat in front of Albedo. "I don't mind getting a little wet." Albedo replies, not leaving his eyes from his computer.

"It's dangerous, Albedo. I don't want you getting sick, and I don't think you want to either." Kaeya replies. He seemed a bit roar-y, strict, worried. Why does he act like he's worried Albedo scoffs at himself? "Do you understand Albedo?" Kaeya asks, his eyes darkening. "Kaeya, calm down, it's not a big deal. I won't get sick" Albedo says, annoyed. "Albedo, please." Kaeya pleads, his eyebrows scrunched. "Fine...please stop annoying me now." Albedo groans, clenching his fist tight in frustration.

Kaeya lights up and offers to help gather his folders but is turned down. "..I have an umbrella, shall we go?" Kaeya asks, grabbing his umbrella out of his bag. Albedo hums in reply while grabbing his bag.

Shit. When Albedo grabbed his bag he noticed his wrist and the foundation smudged.

He and Kaeya were walking together under one umbrella. It's all Albedo could think of. "You're a bit close to the edge, you'll end up getting wet" Kaeya laughed at him while grabbing his wrist, dragging him closer to him. Albedo snatched his arm back, worried Kaeya noticed the faint red streaks on his wrist. Kaeya's smile shrunk. "Sorry." He apologizes. A wave of guilt washed Albedo but he stayed quiet.

The rain was loud. It was a gloomy day.

Albedo looked down at his wrist. "Huh?" Kaeya exclaims, looking at his hand. Albedo looked up at Kaeya who was looking at his hand he used to grab Albedo. Shit. The foundation smudged all over his hand.. Albedo panics. "Is this... foundation?" Kaeya observes the lighter shade clashing with his skin. "N-no! urm...I...it's uh..." Albedo couldn't think of anything to cover it up. "Why are you wearing a foundation on your arm?" Kaeya asks. Albedo looked like he was on the verge of tears. He backed away from Kaeya. "No reason." Albedo says, edging at the end of the umbrella. "Albedo? What's wrong?" Kaeya asks, confused. Kaeya put the pieces together. He grabbed his wrist. Foundation on his arm. Albedo put foundation on his wrist. Was he covering something? "Albedo...is everything ok?" Kaeya asks once again looking down at his wrist. "Everything is alright." He replies bluntly. Albedo backs up again. "Albedo! You're going to get wet." Kaeya exclaims, reaching his arm over Albedo, closer to the blonde. He snatched Albedo's wrist once again, pulling him closer. "Do you want to get sick?" Kaeya asks in frustration. "And why is there foundation on your wrist?" Kaeya asks. "None of your business." Albedo exclaims, trying to grab his arm back.

Why isn't he letting me go? Albedo thinks in frustration.

"Albedo. Is it a mark? You shouldn't be ashamed of that. Especially the ones that look like stars. They are so nice on you" Kaeya lectures, pulling his wrist closer to him. He rubbed Albedo's wrist. "...Why is it... red...Albedo! You know it's not healthy to put makeup over your scars! You'll get infected." Kaeya says, trying to rub the foundation away. "No, it's not that, Kaeya! Let go of me!" Albedo yells in frustration, adding more pressure to his pulling from Kaeya. "No Albedo, this isn't good! Let me clean your wound," Kaeya yells, holding Albedo's wrist tight. "What...is that your...soulmate thing?".

Albedo is red. In embarrassment and in anger. "Kaeya let go of me!" Albedo screams, trying to push him away.

"Who is it?" Kaeya yells. He looked like he was going to cry. "Why wouldn't you tell me, Albedo?" Kaeya yells in 'betrayal'. "I don't have to tell you everything!" Albedo scoffs, frustrated.

"Albedo! Please tell me who it is! Why are you secretive!?" Kaeya screams. Thin tears fall down from his face. Why can't he just let me know. Kaeya thinks. Albedo stares at him. "Why are you crying?! This has nothing to do with you and I'm not being secretive!"

"Please Albedo!" Kaeya begs. Why doesn't he realize I fucking love him, I want to at least know who his soulmate his. Kaeya thinks in frustration. It hurt him to know that the soulmate was someone else.

"Kaeya just let it go! It has nothing to do with you!" Albedo screams. It has everything to do with you...

Snatching the umbrella and throwing it away he screams "Oh my archons. Just let me go!". The heavy rain droplets land on the two. Soaking wet. Kaeya lets go of Albedo's wrist. "Please, Please Albedo.." Kaeya quivers. Albedo felt the tears coming at it again. This time he couldn't hold his tears in and they non stop fell down. "Fine! You want to know who it is, it's fucking you! Why else would I be so secretive about it around you and it's making me question so many things! I genuinely started to fall in love with you but I was so fucking scared it would affect us! It's not like you love me back? Do you! I just wanted to protect our friendship but now it's fucking ruined because of some stupid name on my fucking wrist!" Albedo cries, covering his mouth and trying to wipe his tears. Kaeya stared at him. "Y-you...love me?" Kaeya asks in disbelief. "Yes! I have been! For a fucking while! And these feelings stop me from doing anything too close to you! I'm fucking scared Kaeya! For our friendship!" Albedo stopped and looked down.

He couldn't see anything because his vision was so blurry. "Albedo..." Kaeya starts. "No. don't say anything. Just let me leave.." Albedo says, his voice shaking.

Albedo walks off. "Albedo!" Kaeya calls out trying to follow Albedo after grabbing his umbrella. Albedo runs off, almost falling down on the wet concrete.

Flashes of colors went by, the traffic lights were so bright, along with side lamps. Why is everything so bright? Albedo could hear his heartbeat. His heart felt heavy. The tears kept falling down. It all hurts. His breath was painfully sharp. His lungs hurt. His legs grew wary. But all he could do was keep running. Running from the pain but all he did was gather more.

He suddenly stopped. Albedo looked to his side, a small cafe. He stormed in trying to drench the water out of him. "Sorry, we're closed-! Oh! Oh dear, Albedo! Are you alright?" A voice exclaims. "I'll get you a towel!" The voice said again. Albedo stayed at the same spot. Catching his breath. Albedo looked up and saw another blonde boy, Aether. He ran to Albedo, putting a towel around him. "This will have to do...are you ok!?" Aether asks, looking at the swelling eyes of Albedo.

Aether hugged Albedo, letting the teary one sob into his shoulder. "What happened..?" Aether asked, panicked.

"I just want him to love me back... Why can't he love me back! He hates me now! I've been so cold to him and now he probably doesn't want me anymore!" Albedo blurts out, sobbing even more in his shoulder, gripping onto the Aether.

"Is it Kaeya?" Aether asks. Albedo nods, digging his nails in Aether. "I just want him to love me..." Albedo exhales heavily while gulping for more air. "Don't worry. I'm sure everything will be alright...let's get you home, ok?" Aether asks, grabbing a random umbrella from the bucket of umbrellas near the door. Albedo parts from Aether and follows him to the door.
