'Useless, weak, ugly, idiotic' were the nicknames of a girl. A girl who hid and isolated herself from the world. But when she meets her stepbrothers, she planned to change to prove those nicknames were nothing but people's efforts to bring her down.
Previously... "You what?" Present... Dahye laughed at Sori's reaction. "I. Got. A. Boyfriend." Dahye said every word carefully to tease Sori who glared at her.
"I got that idiot. It's called getting surprised." Sori rolled her eyes and spun her chair around. "What's his name?"
"Jungwon." Dahye said.
"Wait, Yang Jungwon? Part of the group Enhypen?" Dahye nodded."Wow. Look at you. Dating a mafia."
"Shut up." Dahye said throwing a pillow to Sori. "We just started dating."
Sori smirked."I'm sure one day things will become different." Sori wiggled her eyebrows.
Dahye furrowed her eyebrows in confusion slowly realizinf what she meant. "Ewww. What the fuck is wrong with you dude!?" Dahye wore a face of disgust.
"What? It's like that with every couple." Sori threw her hands up defensively. "You of all people should know that."
Sori poked Dahye's chest. _____________________________________ Dahye opened the door slowly not to disturb anyone. As she turned around, she saw Jay standing there, arms crossed, staring into the girl's soul.
"Jesus! You scared me." Dahye held onto her chest in fright.
"Where were you?" Jay asked expressionless.
"I went to see my friend."
"In the middle of the night?" Jay asked back.
"Yeah. Got a problem?" Dahye walked to her room ignoring her brother's existence. Meanwhile Jay, who was confused, yelled her name.
"Yah, Sun Dahye!" Jay ran up to her. Dahye turned around with a let's-get-this-over-with expression.
"What?" Dahye answered clearly agitated. "If you have nothing to say then leave me alone."
Dahye walked off to her room, slamming the door harshly.
"What's up with her?" Sunghoon appeared out of nowhere. "She's usually really cheerful."
"I don't know." _____________________________________ Dahye layed on her bed stressfully.
Maybe I shouldn't have reacted like that
Dahye thought as she wrapped her head with her pillow. Hearing a knock on the door, she put her pillow back and shouted.
"Come in!"
Jungwon entered the room. "Hey."
"Hey," Dahye replied. Jungwon sat down and put his arms around the girl's shoulder.
"Are you okay?" Jungwon asked. Dahye looked at the boy.
"Of course. Why wouldn't I be?" Jungwon sighed.
"Because it looked like you were agitated when you were talking to Jay hyung." Dahye sighed knowing she couldn't argue with that statement.
"You wanna know what happened?" Jungwon nodded."Fine, I'll tell you."
Flashback...
Dahye stuffed her books into her locker and slammed it shut. She turned around and walked towards the exit to wait for her brothers.
That's when she saw Jay talking to someone Dahye never wanted to see in her life ever again.
Jinhwa.
Dahye hid behind a pillar so they wouldn't see her. She didn't want to but ended up eavesdropping.
"Hi. Do you know where Dahye is?" Jinhwa asked.
"Umm no but why are you curious?" Jay asked back making Jinhwa stumped.
"I'm her childhood friend." Jinhwa lied with a smirk.
How dare she lie so easily?
Dahye listened attentively to their conversation.
"If you want to see her you can come drop by. I'm her brother." Jinhwa smirked.
"Sure! That sounds great!" Jinhwa exclaimed
"Great. I'll see you soon." Jay and Jinhwa wlked away from each other.
How could Jay not realize? Didn't I say her name when I told him I was bullied?
End of flashback...
"That's why you are mad?" Jungwon asked. Dahye nodded.
"The thing is that, I shouldn't be mad but I am. You know like, I mentioned her name very clearly it was Yu Jinhwa. And somehow Jay just forgets it? That can't be? That's not him. He's always supportive and when in a situation like this he would ask me and confirm but why didn't he do it now? I'm confused. It's like every question I ask no one gives me an answer even though they all know what it is. I don't understand. Why does everyone not trust me?" Dahye groaned and layed her head on Jungwon's lap.
Jungwon caressed Dahye's head. He looked back and mouthed, "Now you know."
Jay stood there with the others feeling guilty. He knew he should have asked her but instead he didn't. He just believed Jinhwa without even remembering his sister was bullied. _____________________________________ The next morning, Dahye woke up as the sunlight immediately attacked her eyes. "Jeez, does have to be that bright?" Dahye complained as she dragged her feet to the bathroom.
15 minutes later...
Dahye went down to the kitchen. "Ya'll woke up already?"
"You woke up late sleeping beauty." Jay said as he put his coffee mug down on the table.
"Easy for you to say," Dahye scoffed walking away. Jay sighed, hitting his forehead with his palm.
"Looks like she's still mad at you." Sunghoon said as he put his plate in the sink.
"Shut up."
At school...
"I'll see you later." Jungwon waved to Dahye who returned it back. As she was walking to class, she was suddenly stopped.
"What's your deal with Jungwon?" Sakamoto asked as if someone raided her territory. But Dahye kept quiet and smirked. "I'm gonna ask one last time. What.Is.Your.Deal.With.Jungwon?"
"What happens between us, isn't any of your business. Don't stick your nose in other people's problems." Dahye was about to walk away but she got pushed, nearly falling to the ground.
"Yes it is. Because Jungwon is mine, okay? M.I.N.E." Sakamoto proudly announced aloud."And everybody listen up! Don't you ever mess with me or my boyfriend or you'll have a death wish."
Dahye shook her head at the girl's confidence. She could proudly say that Jungwon was her boyfriend even though it's all a lie.
"Is he really your boyfriend?"
