'Useless, weak, ugly, idiotic' were the nicknames of a girl. A girl who hid and isolated herself from the world. But when she meets her stepbrothers, she planned to change to prove those nicknames were nothing but people's efforts to bring her down.
Previously... "Is he really your boyfriend?" Present... Dahye turned around. Jay stood there with his hands in his pockets. "J-jay o-oppa-," before even finishing her sentence, she got cut off.
"No don't even dare to call him that." Dahye was shocked and confused.
"Ni-ki, seriously?" Dahye whispered but Ni-ki ignored her.
"You really do have the audacity to go out there and say you're dating your crush. But just admit it, everything you say about you and Jungwon is all a massive lie." Sakamoto felt nervous.
Dahye felt as if she shouldn't be involved in this. She watched her brothers trying to get the truth out of Sakamoto but she didn't budge no matter what.
"What's going on?" Jungwon asked observing the scene. "Are they trying to get the truth out of her?"
Dahye simply nodded. Jungwon sighed. "Maybe you should do it." Dahye turned to her boyfriend in disbelief. "I'm sorry what?" Jungwon laughed."Why don't you do it. You're clearly the only one who can."
Dahye thought for a bit and agreed she walked forward to the chaos. "Stop." The hall went quiet. Her brothers also started to back away. Dahye walked forward closing the gap between her and Sakamoto.
"Look. If you have so much courage to say that your crush is your boyfriend. Then you'll definitely have the courage to speak the truth, wouldn't you?" Dahye carassed Sakamoto's chin."You describe your life as a perfect 'Y/N' life. Anf it's very rare to have that kind of life at this generation huh?"
Sakamoto was shaking. She felt scared, nervous. If she revealed everything, she would tarnish her reputation. She would be mocked, bullied, called out and threatened for bringing such disgrace to the name of her school. "It is t-the truth."
Dahye knew she was lying. "Do you remember Yuseok?" Sakamoto nodded. Dahye smirked victoriously, "And there's one truth out." Sakamoto was confused."You said you forgot everyone you dated in your past. But then, how did you remember Yuseok?"
Realization hit the girl as her jaw fell to the floor. "I-" Sakamoto felt as if she was about to explode as she slid to the ground.
"Look," Dahye knelt down to Sakamoto's eye level. "We don't want to hurt you. But if you really don't want to get hurt, just spill the goddamn truth. Then who knows? Your face might not get bagged."
Laughs echoing around the hall as the students wach the scene like a Netflix series. "Okay fine! He's not my boyfriend. I made it all up." Dahye smiled.
"Care to explain why?" Dahye asked. Sakamoto inhaled deeply before answering.
"I just wanted to have something people could never have. I've had shitty luck my whole past and I was mocked for it. So one day I thought I would get back at them but the day never came. So i said to myself, 'why not just pretend instead of waiting on and on for the day to finally come?' So yeah, that's it."
Dahye lifted Sakamoto's chin up revealing her face with guilt. "That wasn't so hard, was it?"
Dahye opened her mouth to speak but was distracted by a sound. Dahye realized the flash on Sakamoto's phone for a split second and signaled her to check it.
She hesitantly opened her phone as text messages were viewed on her lock screen. Dahye was shocked, but Sakamoto looked like she was used to it.
"Who is that?" Sakamoto's attention was diverted back to that ground.
"My stepfather."
Why does she look so nervous if it's just her stepfather?
"What's wrong with that?" Sakamoto mumbled, not peeling her eyes away from the floor.
