Jack's POV (ooh jack's pov this is a first)
"Alex," I whined, "I want to watch Home Alone you dick!" I pushed my shorter best friend off the couch and stretched myself in his spot, occupying as much room as possible.
"But Jack, Star Wars is on!" he groaned, pulling himself off of the floor and crushing my legs beneath his ass. I flicked a piece of popcorn from the bowl I held and flicked it in his hair, laughing as he flinched, "No one cares about your nerdy obsessions Lex. Especially when they interfere with my better, less annoying obsession with Home Alone."
He scowled, "Lisa happens to love my passion for Star Wars. And less annoying? Really? Do we need to discuss this again?" Alex shifted back and forth as he grew uncomfortable from sitting on my skinny legs. "Do we need to discuss how Lisa is a whore and only pretends to like what you do so she can have sex with you again?"
Maybe I was being a bit harsh but Alex had grown used to it over the years. No one in the band or crew enjoyed Lisa, we all thought she was fake and a total bitch, and we made sure he knew how we felt about her. We'd always make small indications of our intense distaste for his girlfriend, yet Alex had been with her since high school and showed no sign of falling out of love with her.
Alex glared at me momentarily before rolling his eyes and shaking it off. "Whatever man, I want to watch Star Wars. You've seen Home Alone more times than I can count," he made grabby hands at the remote in attempt to prevent me from turning my movie on, but it was too late. "And you've seen Star Wars as many times as I've watched Home Alone so shut up," I smiled contentedly as he gave up and got off of the couch.
"So Jack, what-" "Shhh," I cut him off before he could go any further, holding my pointer finger up in his direction even though he was in the kitchen.
"I was just goi-"
"Shhh"
"But I-"
"Shhh"
"Dammit Jack you've seen this a million times, know all the words, and own three copies of the first movie alone. Just this once let me ask you something, or pause it," Alex shouted across the room, agitation in his tone. I gave out an exaggerated sigh and stopped the movie.
"What could be so important that you would interrupt Home Alone?" Alex laughed at my annoyance and rummaged through the refrigerator, "I was just wondering what happened to that girl you met the other night. Sally was it? Very cliche by the way."
I was glad he couldn't see me at the moment for my cheeks were turning from pale white to a rosy pink within seconds at the mention of her. Something about her struck me. She didn't seem so superficial or big headed. The fact that we shared multiple common interests and she didn't try to sleep with me after minutes of knowing me made me want to find her again. But knowing my luck she would be stuck as a fantasy forever. A distant memory as I grew older and moved around. It's not everyday that you find someone like that. Someone that you feel you need in your life, whether as a friend or more, to make you happy. Even if you've only talked to them for a few hours in a musty and dark bar, you need them.
"I don't know man. You guys dragged me out of there before I could get her number, or even a last name for that matter. I blame you all," I joked. Alex walked back to the living room, beer in hand and a sleuth like look on his face, "So do you like her?"
Honestly I didn't know. I wanted to be her friend, yes, but I was still hung up on Holly. I wasn't so much disappointed that I wasn't with her anymore as it was that I had done so well in maintaining a healthy relationship and then just like that it was over.
So did I like Sally? No. I didn't know her well enough. But Alex would never buy that because to him "it doesn't matter how long you've known a person for you to know you're meant to be" which is exactly what he told me about almost every girl I had dated and thought I was rushing into things by falling for them too early.
I finally just shook my head at Alex, laughing as if the thought of it was ridiculous. "Nah man, meeting her was just luck. Like I said, I won't see her again anyways."
Alex repositioned my legs so they were across his lap instead of under him and then sat down. "But what if you did, hmm? Then what?" He sipped from his bottle as he watched for my reaction. I shrugged, "I'd befriend her, get to know her better, see where things lead I guess."
Alex eyed me curiously, as if he wasn't satisfied with my answer. As if he expected me to be my usual perverted self. But Sally was different. She was respectable and obviously not one to mess around.
I matched Alex's look until neither of us could keep a straight face. "Okay you douche bag, are you done interrogating me yet? I'd like to watch my movie now." Alex opened his mouth to protest but I had already turned up the volume to overpower his voice. He sat back, letting a 'hmph' sound escape his mouth as crossed he arms over his chest. Smiling triumphantly, I found a comfortable position on the couch and slumped into it.
---------------------------
It was about thirty minutes into the movie when there was a knock on the door. I nodded towards the front of the room, suggesting for Alex to answer it. Still upset that he didn't get to watch Star Wars, which was ridiculous because he owned them all on dvd, and being the stubborn grudge holder he was, he refused to let whoever it was enter the house.
"I swear if one more person interrupts Home Alone I'm quitting the band," I muttered the fake threat to myself as I trudged to the door. I was still frowning when I saw Rian and Zack on the other side of the door. "What," I said grumpily and bluntly.
Rian scoffed as the remainder of the band entered the house. "Good to see you too mr.grouch. What's up with you?" "Everyone keeps bothering him and he can't watch Home Alone. I think it's karma Jacky," Alex teased from his seat on the couch. Rian chuckled and took off his jacket, "Keep that sour attitude up and I won't tell you the news."
My ears pricked up and I crossed my fingers, "Please say we're going on tour. Please Rian, please," I pleaded for him to tell me, getting on my knees. Zack gave me a light shove, causing me to topple backwards and land on my back. "Yeah dork we're going on tour." Rian nodded, "Matt set up all the dates for the Dirty Work tour, we hit the US in a week so you better start packing. Knowing you it will take a few days of procrastination and then before you know it you'll be filling your suitcase the day we leave." I would have argued but I knew he was right.
Before I went to grab my bag i pulled off my pants and did the traditional 'Barakat lap of victory', running around the house yelling. "Tour tour tour tour," I chanted and soon enough I had everyone else cheering along with me.

A/N yay is this longer than usual? I tried to make it longer I really did. I just realized my facts are really accurate so go me woo. Oh um i made Lisa a disliked character in this story. I don't know what she's really like so i just needed her to be hated for this okay? Okay. She could be lovely idk. I don't care about her cuz i love jack but blah blah you don't care.
