"Alex? ALEX?! Can I stay on your bus until we get to the next venue? Please?" I shouted over the crowd as All Time Low walked off stage.
His eyebrows furrowed before he motioned for me to follow him backstage.
"What did you say?" He queried as we entered their dressing room.
I had been meaning to ask him before the show, but with the Lisa thing and my lack of social skills I decided to put it off until afterwards. I wasn't quite sure how I was going to ask him, there was so many ways he could react to it and I had no idea what his would be.
The reason for wanting to stay with them I was planning on telling him was some story about how I got bored of doing the same thing every night or how every once in a while friends need a break from each other. Neither of which made sense because I happened to like the normal routine of eating while listening to music from my teen-hood, and I happened to be spending more time with Alex's band then I had my own lately.
So I settled with saying;
"Well, it's just that you guys always spend time on our bus so I never really get to see Zack or Rian. Not to mention the fact that your bus is ten times better than ours," I tripped up as I spoke, stuttering and clumsily slurring my words.
Not that those things weren't true, but I really just wanted a nice night with Alex. He was asked if he was okay at least three times per crew or band member, and no matter how much he faked a smile and replied 'yes' there was disappointment in his eyes. I didn't expect for him to be happy, no one did. He was with Lisa for so long, and even if she was a horrid human being, to him she was his everything.
So the main reason I felt I needed to stay on their bus was to cheer him up. Sure Jack, Rian, or Zack could make him feel better, but none of them really understood what he was going through.
Well, Jack didn't. I wasn't sure about the other two because, like I said, I never really got to bond with them like I had with Alex and Jack.
They were either busy or content with remaining on their own bus, unlike the others who were constantly with Reckless Escapade on our traveling home, as I liked to call it.
Why they were always on our bus I'm not sure, being the new and less popular band on the tour meant having smaller quantities of money, which meant a low quality vehicle. It wasn't all bad, but compared to All Time Low's massive and upgraded bus, ours was nothing in comparison.
"Wait so what was your question again weenie beenie?" he smirked at the nickname he had given me recently, trying it out for the first time.
It all started when we were discussing Foo Fighter and I had to open my big mouth around one of their biggest fan boys.
I loved the song and I made sure he knew that, but I couldn't stand the title.
So that's when he thought it'd be hilarious to make it a little pet name for me, making sure to use it whenever he could.
I decided not to make a scurrilous comment so he wouldn't deny my pleading, "Can I please please please stay on your bus tonight?" I rushed out and my frown augmented while he cocked his eyebrow and smiled his stupid lopsided grin.
"Say you like my name for you," he mocked, knowing that even if I was lying he could still hold it against me.
I could have refused to give him what he wanted but I desperately wanted to be with them, so I grumbled as I told him how I appreciated the "wonderful" name.
Ten minutes later, I was packing up my bag and rushing into the open arms of Jack, who was ecstatic about our 'sleepover.'
"This is going to be so much fun Sal!" he bounced around, doing small dances of excitement.
