Pronunciation: Ah-vih-fors
Use: Transforms target into bird, flock of birds or (occasionally) flock of bats
Etymology: In Latin, avis means 'bird' and forma means 'shape.'
Magic Moment: Minerva McGonagall teaches this spell in first and second year Transfiguration classes.
Notes: This spell is only mentioned in some Harry Potter video games and the Harry Potter Trading Card Game.
