Etymology: In Latin, depulsio means 'push away.'
Magic Moment: Harry, Ron, Hermione and the rest of the fourth years practice this spell during their Charms class in Goblet of Fire.
Notes: Also known as a Banishing Charm. This charm works on whatever object it is pointed at, even if it was not the object the caster intended to banish.
