After being allowed to sit in on a multi agency meeting this morning, I was certain of one thing: people are complete and total assholes. We were called in to participate in a raid to save a girl, no more than 6 years old, who has been held captive and tortured so that some asshole mafia members can steal her quirk.

I don't even want to imagine the things that poor girl has been through. Sure, there's more to the mission than just saving her. There's a drug ring, and money embezzling going on too that we have to stop. But to me, saving that poor kid is the most important part. I have to do it. I can't let another kid grow up with a childhood like I had. I just can't. Not when I can help stop it.

"Absolutely not," Aizawa said sternly, making my blood start to boil inside of me. The others going on the mission were waiting for me outside of the dorms, and here Aizawa was telling me that I can't go.

"Why not?! I have my provisional license. Your agency was asked to help. You're going. I'm your intern! Why can't I go!?" I could feel the eyes of the other students who were staying back on me, but I didn't care. I just want to save that kid. That's it.

"You're too emotionally involved. You'll end up doing something irrational and get yourself hurt or killed. No," Aizawa said with no room for argument and began to walk away from me as if the argument was over. I balled my hands into fists and followed, determined for him to let me on this mission.

"Is this because I'm your kid? Are you afraid of me getting hurt? Because I can—"

"The fact that you're even asking me that is ridiculous. You've been on plenty of dangerous missions before," he snapped. "My decision is final, Hana. You're not going." I stopped in my tracks. Aizawa has never snapped at me before. Not like that. But I can't just let him leave me here!

"So you're saying that if I were anyone else, you still wouldn't let me go? This has nothing at all to do with wanting to protect me like I'm a fucking kid," I snapped back, feeling my temper rising in my veins.

"You are a kid," he said flatly, staring at me with a leveled glare. I scoffed in response, rolling my eyes. "If you were anyone else in the same situation, I'd still see an intern who is too close to this case to act responsibly. I'd see too many similarities in the background of you and that kid we're trying to save," he said firmly. I let out a sigh, but held my glare. I don't want to back down.

"And if I go without your permission," I threatened, raising an eyebrow. "I have a license. No one would stop me."

"Then, I'd see an intern pushing their luck in keeping this internship because they failed to follow direct instructions to not join a mission for a second time," he raised an eyebrow back at me.

"That's not fair," I sneered, shaking my head and crossing my arms over my chest.

"Life's not fair, kid, get used to it," he said back before turning and leaving again.

I let out a frustrated noise and made my way back into the living room where Sho and Kat were waiting for me. When I got to the couches, I let out an annoyed huff and plopped down next to Kat.

"He's gonna expel you one day," Kat warned me. I rolled my eyes at him and kept pouting. "I'm fucking serious, Icy."

"Bakugo's right," Sho added, sipping his tea and smiling at me. "I'm kinda surprised he hasn't already," he said in a more teasing tone.

"Shut up," I whined. "He's not gonna expel me." I paused to really think about it. "He might fire me. But he won't expel me."

"Keep telling yourself that, Icy," Kat laughed and pushed me slightly in a teasing manner. A large portion of the anger in my body dissipated, and I smirked at him.
