Tom's speech went on for what seemed like forever for Emily and Seth. It didn't help that Seth was still pacing. Emily was beginning to feel sick as she watched him. She didn't think she could take much more of it.

"Why are they taking so long?! I mean all the president has to say is thank you for having him and then leave, how hard can that be?!" Seth was getting more and more agitated.

"I don't know Seth. You wrote it!" Emily snapped back feeling like he was hurting Tom.

Luckily their quiet shouting had gained someone's attention. Hannah came out of the room and headed over to them. Emily and Seth both looked at each other before standing causally like nothing had happened. Hannah hadn't really heard their shouting and just needed to tell them something but she could tell from their sheepish looks that they had done something.

"Agent Wells, everything alright?" Emily managed to keep her voice unsuspicious.

"Fine. The president is just finishing his speech and then he's getting ready to leave. I just came out here to check everything was in order." Hannah nodded, keeping back a smile at both Emily and Seth.

"Good, Seth was beginning to get annoyed." Emily rolled her eyes.

"How did he do? Did the speech go down well?" Seth asked Hannah, as she was the only one out of the three of them who heard the whole speech.

"Judging by the crowd, I think it down quite well." Hannah reassured him.

Seth thanked her and then ran into the room so he could get the crowd's reaction first hand. Emily just chuckled as Hannah looked confused.

"What's up with him?" Hannah pointed a finger after Seth.

"He was worried about the speech. He wanted everything to go perfect tonight or he might get it from the president." Emily was still a bit inconclusive about the real reason but Hannah got the gist.

They were just about to join Seth in the room when Emily's phone began to ring. Emily made a face as Hannah opened the door.

"I'd better get this. It says it's from the White House." Emily saw the name flash up on the screen.

Hannah didn't respond and just went into the room. Emily could hear talking from inside getting louder and louder. She'd better take this outside if she was going to stand a chance in hell of hearing what the person was saying!

Tom sighed heavily as the crowd began to clap. Finally, he could go home and see how Penny was doing. He looked over at Alex and got a thumbs up. Alex was always supportive of Tom when he felt like this.

"Thank you all. Get home safely." Tom finished saying.

His secret service agents then escorted him off of the stage, Alex coming to his side. She put her head on his shoulder. He saw Seth in the middle of the room looking a bit lost. He left Alex in the safe hands of the secret service and went over to him.

"Mr President." Seth bowed his head a little, looking very pleased with himself.

"I get it that the speech went well. Well Alex liked it anyway." Tom could see Seth was waiting for a response on his speech.

Seth smiled at this and then saw Foerstel and Mike split up just behind Tom. Tom saw Seth's view and looked behind him.

"That's weird. They've been together for most of the evening, why would they split up now?" Seth said aloud rather than just thinking it.

"I'll tell them they've got your attention shall I? Where's Em?" Tom saw that Seth was alone.

"I think she went outside. Some call from the White House, I didn't hear who."

"Thanks Seth. I'd better get back to Alex." Tom waved his hand leaving Seth to try and get back alone.

Hannah watched Mike come straight towards her. It was like the time she was in jail all over again! This time however, it was nice to know they were working together this time. However, there was a certain look on his face that told her everything was far from alright.

"Foerstel just saw someone with a gun." Mike muttered to Hannah so the guests didn't hear him.

"What?! Where?" Hannah demanded to be told.

"The man blended in with the crowd. If you see him..."

"I'll call you."

Mike patted her on the back and then went off to search for the man. Hannah scanned the room looking for anyone looking the least bit suspicious. True it wasn't going to be easy. No one was going to show they had a hidden gun! Hannah also kept an eye on where Tom and Alex were. She knew the man was probably going after the president and she had already tried to foil one assassination attempt on this president.

"Come on where are you." Hannah mumbled under her breath.

Aaron stared and stared at the ceiling. Since his conversation with Emily, nothing interesting to keep him awake had happened. As he couldn't sleep either, his evening was really not going well. Suddenly he got an alert on his phone.

"What on earth?!" Aaron sighed but still picked up the phone anyway.

It was an alert from the White House. He kept his face in a frown and punched Emily's number in to find out if she knew what was going on. It was engaged however.

Aaron looked up at his coat, which he had thrown down on the bed earlier. If it wasn't important then nobody would have told him. He pondered whether to do anything or leave it until the next day. Aaron grabbed his coat and wandered out of the door.

Emily finally got through to the person who had phoned her. Wyatt answered and then passed her onto the person.

"Emily Rhodes here." Emily said into the phone when she got through.

"Hi Em." Penny's sweet voice came back.

Emily looked back to see if the president was anywhere to be seen so she could pass the phone to him. It wasn't that Emily didn't want to talk to Penny but he would be better at it then her.

"Hi Penny." Emily did the best she could.

"I just wondered if dad was done yet?" Penny yawned obviously tired but unwilling to go to bed even though numerous people had told her to.

"You should be in bed. You know what the doctor said, you need a lot of rest so your fever doesn't come back."

"The doctor was wrong."

"I don't think they were sweetheart. If I told you we'd be back soon, would that make you feel any better?"

"A little but you've been saying that for the past five hours!"

"It hasn't been that long."

She then heard commotion from within the building.

"I'll have to call you back. Mum and dad are coming home soon and just you remember that." Emily quickly ended the call.

She then walked back to the door and heard three loud bangs come from inside. She put her hand to her mouth and nearly fell down the stairs behind her. Several members of the buildings team ran out and pushed into her as she tried to get back in again. This can't be happening.
