You observe Kili talking to Legolas. You try to tune into what your best friends are saying, but fail. "Hmm." You murmur as they converse quietly and seriously. You shrug and wave at them. "Hey, guys!" You exclaim, walking over to them. Kili elbows Legolas and shakes his head slowly. Legolas sighs and Kili raises an eyebrow. Legolas nods and shrugs. "What are you guys up to?" You ask, stopping next to them. "Let's go hang out or something." You say, smiling. "Uh, you know what? We're really busy." Kili says. Your eyebrows draw. "Oh." You say, deflated. "Yeah, well we'll see you later." He says. You look at Legolas who looks like he's about to say something to you. "Come on, Legolas, we need to go." Kili says, putting his hand on Legolas's shoulder. Legolas stares at you, his words stuck on his tongue. He sighs and turns away to follow Kili. You frown. "Bye." You sigh. You watch them as they walk away from you, and then you turn to walk back to your house.
The next day you see Legolas and Kili running past your house. You open your window. "Legolas! Kili" You call, smiling. They stop and look up at you. "Stay right there! I'll be down in a minute." You say to them. You rush from the window and down the stairs. You reach the front door and pull it open. You walk outside and your eyebrows draw. They're gone. "Legolas? Kili?" You ask. You search around the outside of your house, unable to find them. You sigh, hurt. "Where did they go?" You ask, biting your lip. You sigh again and trudge back to your home. "Guess I'll just go see them at Kili's house then later." You say, shutting your front door.
Three days later you head to Kili's house. You knock on the door and wait. "Kili, it's Y/N. I was just wondering if Legolas and you would like to come and do archery with me? I've barely seen you both and I'm missing the two of you." You explain. You knock again. "Kili?" You ask. "Look, I know you guys are home because you and Legolas always hang out around this time." You state. No one answers you and you sigh. "Fine. When you want to see me, you know where I live." You say, before walking off the porch and back home.~
For the next month, you see Kili and Legolas, but they both ignore you. You're deeply hurt and saddened by this sudden change of events. You miss Kili and Legolas...especially Legolas. As they pass you in the market you smile. "Hey." You say, putting your hand on Legolas's arm, stopping him. He stares at the ground and your eyebrows draw. "That's it! I can't take it anymore. What is going on?" You ask, looking between them. "Why are you ignoring me?" You ask, your eyes stinging with tears. "Have I done something to upset you?" You ask, your eyebrows drawing. "If I have done something, please tell me." You plead, a tear slipping from your eye. "Y/N..." Legolas whispers, his voice cracking. "Legolas." Kili warns. "No, I'm stick of this, Kili. I understand you were trying to help me, but you just made things worse for me, okay? I appreciate what you tried to do, but it didn't help." Legolas says, staring at Kili. "What's going on?" You ask, confused. Legolas sighs and looks at you. "Y/N." He swallows. "Yes?" You ask worriedly, your heart pounding. He grabs your hands. "I love you." He states. Your eyes widen and you draw back. "What." You gasp. "I love you." He repeats. Your eyebrows draw. "Then why were you ignoring me?" You ask. Legolas sighs. "I told Kili about the way I feel about you last month. He wanted me to sort out my feelings for a little bit. He was worried that if you didn't return the feelings, things would just be forever awkward between us. He didn't want either of us to get hurt. So Kili suggested that I take a break from seeing you and see if anything changes." He explains. He looks at Kili. "I know you were just trying to help. But I love Y/N and nothing will ever change that." He breathes.
Legolas turns to look at you and reaches for your hands again. "Y/N, please. Say something." He says. You lick your lips. "Legolas, I love you too." You say slowly. He laughs and pulls you into his arms, holding you tightly. Kili takes a step back, his head bowed. You pull back from Legolas. "Kili." You say. He looks at you and you smile. "Thanks for looking out for us." You say. He gives you a small smile. "You're welcome." He says quietly. He sighs. "Well, I guess I'll see you guys around." He says. "Do you both want to come over to my house for dinner?" You ask. "Sure." Legolas says, nodding. "Yeah, sounds good." Kili says, smiling. "Okay, see you then, Kili." You say, smiling. He gives you a small salute and then leaves. You wrap your arms around Legolas's waist and hug him. "This is a really weird day." You chuckle. Legolas laughs. "Yeah, it was, wasn't it?" He says. You look up at him. "I never thought that we would be a couple. It never even crossed my mind. I thought my feelings were only one way." You say, grinning. "Same here." Legolas says. You stand on your tiptoes and give him a quick kiss on the lips. "We need to communicate better." You laugh softly. "Mm, I'm thinking now is not the best time to communicate though." Legolas says, tightening his grasp around your waist. You perk an eyebrow. "Really..." You say, grinning. He smiles flirtatiously. "Yes, really." He answers, before kissing you deeply.
