"911 whats your emergency?" The caller on the other end of the line spoke. "M-my friend she passed out and fell on the floor" the Italian struggled to get out. "Is the patient breathing? Can you feel for a pulse?" Stefania tried to feel under Dani's jaw for a pulse, but was shaking far too much to be able to feel anything. "I- I- I dont know I'm shaking too much to be able to feel it" she shakily replied.
"Okqy can you put your hand under her nose and feel for any breaths?" The lady continued. Stefanias heart was racing as she lowered her hand, however relief flower over her when she felt air coming out of the blondes nose. "Yes shes breathing please send help!" Stefania almost yelled through the phone. Soon enough they had Stefs address and an ambulance was on its way.
The ride to the hospital felt like a blur to Stefania. The rush and loud noises, and shouting and hustle and bustle was all so much for her to take in. She just couldn't do it. She went numb. However she had to be there for her girl, and refused to leave. This was certainly not how they expected things to go just a few days after confessing their feelings to each other but it was out if their control.
Whilst the doctors were running tests and doing what they could to treat Danielle, Stefania was pulled over by a nurse as they needed to gather any information they could. "What can you tell us about how she was feeling before she lost consciousness?" the nurse asked. Stef took a deep breath before answering, "she had excruciating pain in her stomach which she said were cramps, she always has had bad periods but never this severe. She was in so much pain that she couldn't walk and was pretty much screaming in pain, I had to physically pick her up and carry her to get her inside and give her pain medication. Later on we got takeaway pizza and not long after eating she threw it all back up and just felt awful. That was the last thing that happened before she passed out almost 10 minutes later." she finished.
"Okay i'll pass the key info onto her doctors, thank you so much, I will keep you updated." Stef thanked the nurse before finding somewhere to sit and wait in the waiting room. Her mind was racing at a million miles per hour as she couldn't stop thinking about the blonde. The thought of her getting worse or just something terrible happening to her absolutely petrified stefania. She didn't even realise how worked up she was, and how much she zoned out until a stranger came up to her, asking if she was okay, as tears were running down her face and her leg was shaking uncontrollably. "Oh my god, i'm sorry yeah I'm alright, just extremely w-worried about my friend." She spoke to the woman next to her, before wiping her tears off her face.
"I'm sorry to hear that, she clearly means a lot to you. What happened if you dont mind?" She asked. "She's been in a lot of pain and feeling sick and she passed out." Stef replied, letting out a sigh afterwards. "Hopefully she recovers well and nothing major is wrong." The woman replied before a nurse called her away to see whoever she was waiting for. Just that small conversation lifted Stefs spirits a little, and made her feel a bit less alone and isolated whilst literally being in a hospital waiting room.
About 30 minutes passed and Stefania was beyond worried, and at this point she was struggling to stay calm. She was overthinking everything with Dani and scaring herself thinking about so many insane scenarios in her head. She felt herself losing composure as her breathing started to speed up and she was getting lost in her own head. She was having her first panic attack in months.
Right then the nurse from earlier came over to find Stefania, and ended up seeing her and the state she was in. She immediately got to her and took her into a private room to calm her down and make sure she was okay. "hey look at me, follow my breathing" the nurse spoke, before exaggerating her breaths for the brunette to copy. It took a little longer than normal for Stefania to calm down, but eventually she did. "Have you ever had an attack like that before?" The nurse asked, quite concerned. "I have, i'm quite familiar with panic attacks and normally can calm myself down, but I haven't had one in months so I guess i got a little overwhelmed and didn't know what to do." Stef replied shakily, still feeling embarrassed she just had a panic attack in a waiting room full of people.
