Step 7: Ambushed

That night Caleb stayed up waiting for Donovan to sneek in with another interdimensional portal device like Mary Sue had. He was excited to escape, but part of him also regretted that he was about to leave Donovan behind for good.

The door slid open and Donovan walked in with a big smile on his face. Caleb almost smiled back but then he noticed that it was an EVIL smile.

"Whore! Filthy whore!" Donovan growled. He slapped Caleb across the face.

Caleb was flabbergasted. "What da hell! Get away from me you utter freak."

Donovan pulled out a knife. "You got out of your lesson earlier today, but not this time! This time you PAY!" 

Before Caleb's eyes, Donovan's form shimmered and melted away, revealing the figure of Zade Holder. She cackled gleefully.

"Surprise bitch. Bet you thought you'd seen the last of me."

Oh no! Caleb scrambled back and looked around frantically for a weapon.

Zade stalked closer. "I know exactly what you and Donovan got up to earlier. I hate to burst your bubble, but Donovan and I are actually dating, so whatever you think is going on between the two of you, forget about it! Zade 1, Caleb 0."

Despite everything, Caleb felt jealousy burn in his chest. "I know you're not dating," he sneered. "Donovan would never hook up with a skank-ass ho like you."

"Takes one to know one," Zade hissed. She rubbed her hands together and made some weird gestures like Dr. Strange.

Caleb's throat closed up and his feet lifted into the air. He tried to breathe but no air would come. Zade was force choking him like in Star Wars! 

Zade approached his dangling helpless body and pressed her knife to the skin of his cheek, right where she had slapped him. "When I'm done with you Donovan will never want to look at you again."

Suddenly Zade squealed and clutched her chest. A trickle of blood ran from the corner of her mouth. She collapsed to the ground, revealing Donovan standing right behind her! He held a bloody knife!

Caleb landed on his feet and gasped in a deep breath. "Oh my god, you killed her!" 

"It had to be done, Sweet Cheeks." Donovan whipped out the portal device and grabbed Caleb's hand. "Let's get out of here!" 

But right as Donovan pushed the big red button, Zade chuckled weakly from where she lay and lifted her hand one last time. Caleb felt his body heating up and saw the bright light starting to form, but then he felt something shift. What had she done?!

They had no time to stop her. With a flash and a bang, they were gone.
