Chapter 11

I stood behind diluc, who put his arm in front of me.

"What is it?" Diluc asked, squinting his eyes at the hallway.

Childe and kazuha stayed frozen, not saying a word.

I shivered a bit, trying to see what was happening.

"Run." Childe finally spoke, confusing all of us.

"What?" I asked, peeking behind diluc.

Childe looked at me, pure fear in his eyes.

"Run." He repeated. 

Suddenly, he ran into the darkness of the hallway with the knife waving around.

"CHILDE!" I called out, trying to run over but diluc stopped me.

I had tears forming, did childe really just sacrifice himself?

Kazuha hurriedly limped over to us "we can run down the other hallway now."

I nodded, and the three of us began to sprint down the hallway.

Kazuha was a bit slow, since his leg hurt from the cut.

Suddenly, kazuha tripped. Causing me to look at him.

Diluc looked at me, pulling me away.

"NO! KAZUHA!" I yelled, reaching for him.

Not long after, a weird figure reached out the darkness and grabbed kazuhas foot.

"KAZUHA!" I yelled again, then watched him get pulled into the darkness.

A blood curling scream was then heard, and tears fell from my eyes.

Diluc grabbed my arm, and we suddenly began running.

He looked at me, obviously scared as well.

I wiped the tears away, looking around.

"Here, why don't we go in the basement?" Diluc stopped in front of a door.

I thought for a moment "Fine, but we'll have to lock the door."

Diluc nodded, opening the door and letting me go first.

He soon entered, closing and locking the door.

It now became pitch black, and we slowly made our way down the stairs in the darkness.

"Wheres the light switch.." I muttered, feeling the wall.

I shrieked as i bumped into something.

"That was me." Diluc spoke, and i sighed in relief.

I continued looking for a light switch.

"Ah shit-" i yelled as I tumbled to the ground, knocking something over.

I squinted my eyes in the darkness, then stood.

Diluc was trying to find something to light the room up as well, but was also failing.

"Finally!" I grinned, finding the light switch.

I turned it on, rubbing my eyes a bit.

Diluc chuckled a bit, crossing his arms.

"Whats so funny-" i turned around, widening my eyes as i saw everyone.

Venti was holding a big cake, along with party hats.

"Happy birthday!" Everyone cheered, and i took a moment to register what was happening.

"Wait- so all of that was fake?" I blinked, pinching myself to make sure i was alive.

Venti giggled, and hugged me "yep!".
