I despise Frederick for being named Frederick. My name is Frederick. So, I guess I know how people named Zoë or Bianca feel when reading Titan's Curse.

Frederick's POV

"Helen, Annabeth will be here in a moment."

"Ok."

My daughter, Annabeth, called 1 week ago. She said she would be visiting, catching up on things in San Fran. She also said she would bring a number two (cracking up). I bet it's her friend, Thalia.

 The doorbell rang.

"Coming!" I shouted, running to the door.

Behind the door, stood Annabeth, and a young man that looked strangely familiar.

"Hey, Annie," I said cheerfully.

"Don't call me Annie. Only my closest friends, Percy and Thalia, can call me Annie." she glowered.

I winced. I can't believe I'm afraid of my own daughter. And she doesn't even count me as a father?

"And you are?" I asked the young man.

He was tall, muscular, and had tattoos on his right arm. Ew. What the heck! What does Annabeth even see in this disgraceful guy? He's probably just a player.

"Percy Jackson. You met me 5 years ago when I was 14." he answered.

Ah, Yes. The scrawny little boy who came to save Annabeth was now lean and has an 8-pack.

"Dad, it's ccooold" Annabeth shivered.

"Come in. Come in." I ushered.

The twin ran to hug Annabeth, took one look at Jackson, and started chanting, "Annabeth has a boyfriend. Annabeth has a boyfriend."

"He's not my boyfriend," she muttered.

"Then why's he here? Is he your crush? Roommate?" I said, sipping my tea.

"He's my husband."

I spat the tee back into my cup.

"WHAT!" I thundered, "HE'S YOUR HUSBAND!? Annabeth, can I talk to you privately?"

We walked to my room and I locked the door.

"Annabeth Chase, what are you thin–" I shouted.

"It's Jackson, Frederick." she interrupted.

"Whatever! Why would you marry that man? He's just a player. He'd probably be with you for 2 weeks then leave." I continued.

"Percy and I have been married for 1 year, and dating for 2." she answered calmly.

"And why wasn't I invited to the wedding?" I yelled.

"If you had cared about me more, you would have known." she snarled.

"And he's got tattoos! You shouldn't date someone with tattoos. " I continued.

"Percy has a wonderful reason to have those tattoos. It proves his loyalty to the Romans." she glared.

"You shouldn't even be dating at 19 not to mention be married," I growled.

"We have been through much more than you'd expect. I'm a grown lady. I can make my choices." she said, seething in anger.

"But–"

BAM!

The door broke into two.

"Annabeth the excellent reasons to marry me. Leave her alone." said the voice of Percy Jackson.

I was just about to punch him, but he caught my fist, twisted my arm, and sent me flying into the wall.

"I was the one that convinced Annabeth to stay when she was 12, 14, and even now. I now realize what a terrible mistake I made. DON'T EVEN THINK OF TOUCHING MY ANNIE AGAIN."

All the pipes in our house burst and were firing at me.

They both collected their bags, which were, surprisingly, not wet, and left. I put my head in my hands. What did I do now?

"Don't worry Fred. In a few months, she'll come crying to you, admitting she was wrong." Helen whispered in my ear.

I nodded and went to change.
