Chapter 2: Secret Revealed

Kagome groaned, opening up her eyes, feeling dizzy. She sat up and looked over her surroundings. It was her bedroom. She probably came back home from the feudal era. Then she remembered something that she didn't want to think about. She remembered turning into a demon and trying to kill Inuyasha. She began to sob, calling out for her mother.

Her mother, Harumi, opened the door and found Kagome sobbing after hearing the noise from her bedroom. "Kagome! Thank goodness you're awake!"

She embraced her mother and sobbed. "M-mom... there is something wrong with me...!"

"What happened, honey?"

"I... I don't know what has happened to me, Mom, b-but I've turned myself into a monster because of my sharp fangs, and my eyes are even turned red! Mom, I've attacked Inuyasha and almost kill him a-after Naraku was defeated! I-I don't understand why I would do such a thing!" Kagome explained it to her, still sobbing as she buried her face into her chest.

Harumi gasped in shock. "Oh, no... Kagome, you have awakened your form, haven't you?"

She nodded slowly.

"Oh, no..." Harumi gasped again.

"M-mom...? Are you mad at me for what I did to Inuyasha?"

She shook her head. "No, sweetie," she promised to her daughter. "I'm not mad at you for what you did to Inuyasha. Kagome... it's time you will learn the truth after your seventeenth birthday."

Kagome glanced her icy blue eyes at her mother's face. "What is it, Mom? Who am I?"

Harumi took a breath calmly and began to speak to her, "Kagome... I'm so sorry I've been lying to you for all these years," she told her. "Souta and Grandpa are not your family."

She blinked in confusion. "What do you mean Souta and Grandpa are not my family? What are you talking about?"

"What I'm talking about is that I've kept a secret for seventeen years since the day you were born. Kagome, Souta's father is your stepfather. Karlheinz Sakamaki is your real father. That means Souta is your half-brother," Harumi continued.

"Who is Karlheinz? My real father?"

"Karl is also the current Vampire King, leader of all the vampires," Harumi said.

Kagome widened her eyes in surprise. "Then that means I--"

"Yes, Kagome, you are a half-vampire," Harumi said.

Kagome gasped surprisingly. "I'm... a half-vampire? I'm a half-demon just like Inuyasha!? This can't be real! This can't be happening to me! Mom, please tell me you're joking! Tell me I'm not just a vampire!"

Harumi sighed sadly. "I'm sorry, Kagome, but it's true. You're still a half-vampire. Honey, I'm so sorry for lying to you for your whole life. I have taken care of the situation since you were only a little girl you had slaughtered Souta's father."

"What!? But you told me he died in a car crash!"

"It's true, Kagome," Harumi said sadly. "When I was pregnant with Souta, I saw you slaughtering your stepfather and then drinking his whole blood. I have to call for help, then they have erased your memories so you won't remember the things you did. After all, they have to put you in human form so you won't be turning into a vampire again."

Kagome breathed heavily as she trembled in fear. "Mom... please tell me you're joking... I can't be a murderer...!"

"Kagome, you have to understand this, dear," Harumi said with a sad look on her face. "Karlheinz is your real father and that makes you a half-vampire."
