Dream

Kagome groaned, waking up in a past vision again. The same woman. The same vision. Why does it always have to be this way? Always passing out and seeing things in her dream. This isn't good. She was tired of passing out in front of everyone.

"Oh, great! Not again!" Kagome groaned, finally able to stand up straight.

Then she saw something. A familiar boy from before. Her eyes widened, unexpected to see these graphic scenes instead of her origin. It was an orphanage. The place she had never seen.

Then she saw a familiar boy as a child being abused by a staff who is in charge of the orphanage. She watched the poor boy on the floor struggling to get up. She could see his face. A very familiar face.

Ruki? Kagome thought, icy blue eyes widening.

"You son of a bitch! You just had to instigate." The man said in anger. Yet, very sinister the way he tormented the boy she knew, "Thinking that you'd be able to escape is just plain stupid and it looks like you were the prosper of this plan. Do you not consider yourself human for being here in this place?"

Ruki just stood there and glared, the words that she heard him angered Kagome as well as she glared as well.

"Your stare still seems to be cheeky," the man of this place said before calling out to the staff member, "Hey! Give me that branding iron!" So Kagome watched the staff member smile as he gave the poor excuse of the man a branding iron before this torture scene happens.

He smirked, saying, "To make sure that you never make this mistake again. I'll brand your back."

Kagome heard an ear-piercing scream come from Ruki as he was being punished and tortured by the man who owned this orphanage. She couldn't take it. She hates seeing Ruki being abused she had enough before screaming out, "STOP IT! STOP HURTING HIM!"

She knew they couldn't hear her. She knew they didn't see her. She knew she was still dreaming about Ruki's past. She was just wasting her breath screaming as they still couldn't hear her.

"STOP IT, PLEASE! DON'T HURT HIM!" Kagome yelled, tears now streaming down her face.

The man laughed with a wicked smile, "Even though you were being so quiet, surely you'd scream. It's always been good like this. The sign of a rebel." With the brand iron he was done using, he called out for the staff member to bring another one before torturing Ruki again, "I'll add another one."

Kagome yelled again, "LEAVE ME ALONE! HE DOESN'T DESERVE THIS! STOP THIS MADNESS!"

"This means that from today on, you're branded just like livestock. You have no freedom. Even now and even in the future." The man said, smirking.

Kagome then broke down crying, her voice giving up on her, "Please... stop it..." She sobbed, "Why...? Why do you keep showing me like this!?"

"Boss, a guy like this might as well be dead," a staff member said, eyeing poor Ruki who lay there lifeless.

The boss scowled, "So that is it. Hey, be glad I didn't kill you." He then laughed, "However, remaining in this Hell is a better punishment."

Then the boss and the staff member left with the door shut. She was glad they left, but what is worse is that Kagome was still crying because she could feel Ruki in pain and suffering, only on the edge of death. She couldn't talk. She couldn't scream. Her voice just gave in.

Suddenly, Kagome saw an unfamiliar man appear from the darkness. "Anger and hatred, along with despair. Your heart is truly that of a human."

"W-Who?" She heard Ruki stutter. Kagome stopped crying as she watched and listened to their conversation.

"You poor child. Would you like to have eternal life?"

He blinked. "Eternal life...?"

He smiled, "With the way that things are going, you will die soon. All humans must die someday. However, do you really want to die now? With the hatred that swells inside of you? Do you want to die with that inside with that in mind?"

"What are you saying?" Ruki asked.

"Do you want to take revenge on this world? You are deprived of everything and you watched as these cruel humans took it all from you."

"Revenge?" Ruki asked.

"Ruki, I will save you. Take this hand if you desire it and as a vampire, you'll be born again."

Then Kagome was blinded by a bright light and everything disappeared.

Dream ends

Kagome opened her eyes after waking up from her vision dreams, she sat up and groaned tiredly. She rubbed her head, feeling a slight pain through her head. She couldn't believe she just faint at school. She found herself laying on the bed in the infirmary. She would be in trouble when she passed out and possibly skipped class. Then she heard footsteps approaching, possibly it would be a teacher but instead, she heard a calm familiar voice.

A door knocked as the voice began, "Are you awake?"

Kagome sweatdropped, "Yes... I am."

Then the door opened, revealing Ruki as an adult. "Good. How are you feeling?"

"Okay... Sort of." She couldn't help but remember how Ruki was tortured and a familiar man who saved his life. She could tell Ruki became a vampire after an offer.

Then Yuma, Azuma, and Kou entered the room with worried looks on their faces.

"Kagome, are you okay? Are you feeling sick?" Kou asked, worried.

She put up a smile. "Yes, I'm okay, you guys. Also, I didn't mean to faint in front of the school. It's embarrassing."

"You don't have to worry. We already called your teacher, letting them know that you're not feeling well." Yuma said.

She chuckled shyly. "Thanks, you guys."

Yuma nodded in response to a half-vampire priestess.

"Kagome, do you want to go back to class or do you want to go home?" Ruki asked her.

She hummed, having a hard time with that decision, rather she went home to the Sakamaki Family or rather run away again. No... She didn't run away. She only went with Lucina while doing pranks on the Mukaki Brothers. However, she hated the idea of pulling pranks on them.

Then Kagome replied, "I don't know... I felt like I don't belong here. Ayato now hated me for leaving home with Lucina. I'm just feeling stupid."

"Don't say that! We never wanted to hear you say anything like that ever again!" Yuma angrily shouted.

Kagome tried to finish her sentence before being interested, "But--"

"But nothing! You're wrong, Kagome! We for one are glad you moved here and we are not sure the only ones who think that!" Kou said.

Ruki smiled at her with kindness, "You were very kind to us. Especially that I started to like you."

Kagome blushed as she looked away and smiled shyly before looking back, "Th-Thank you..."

"Hey, wanna get some ice cream and go somewhere?" Kou asked with an excited smile.

Kagome nodded with a smile. "Of course."
