"So, class, as I told you yesterday, a new student will be joining us today," the professor said after coming into the classroom. I lifted my head up and started looking in his direction, trying to keep my hood in place. "Please welcome her and don't tease her." He said this, pointing at us.

After a few minutes, the classroom door opened, and the principal entered, followed by a girl. A cute blonde girl. Her head was down, and I could feel her discomfort. I mean, all the class, especially the boys, were drooling the first second they saw her. I don't blame them, she looked really hot. The principal started talking his usual nonsense, but my eyes were focused on her. I really wanted to see her eyes.

Some people say that the eyes are the mirror of the soul, and I believe it. Her head slowly lifted, and I could see her face, and damn, she was gorgeous. Her blue eyes scanned the entire classroom before landing on the principal.

''So this is Anya,'' he said, putting a hand on her shoulder. ''She will be the new student, and I expect you all to be on your best behavior.'' The principal said this before getting out of the class and glaring at all of us. I don't blame him. We are pretty much all messed up. We are the only class in our school that is number one when it comes to fights or bullying new students to the point that they cry and leave the school. But I survived.

''So Anya, you can sit next to Ivy,'' the professor said before directing her to the seat next to me. I glared at him, and he gave me a devilish grin. He knows I hate sitting with other people, and he still puts her next to me. Her head turns to me, smiling, before she pulls her books and notebook out of her bag and places them on the table. I didn't do anything, I just put my head back in my arms and ignored her. The professor started talking about the lesson, and I was just listening.

I heard someone whispering my name, and at first I ignored it. But after a couple of seconds, it hit me. I hopped out of my chair. I fell asleep. I turn my head to my right, only to see the new girl looking at me in pure horror.

''You scared me for a second. I thought you were dead,'' she says, looking me dead in the eyes with a soft smile forming on her face.

''Well, I am not,'' I say, getting my books into my bag.

''Hello. I am Anya Hale,'' she says, extending her hand. I looked her up and down and passed beside her to get to my next class.

''You know, it is rude to ignore people like that. It makes them feel bad,'' she says, struggling to close her bag. I stopped my movement and turned to her. She looked up at me and didn't move.

''And what makes you think I care how others feel?" I say, continuing to look at her while still trying to close the bag.

''You look like a nice person. You try to be this cold and distant person, but deep down I know you are a softie,'' she says as I continue walking down the hall to my locker, and she still follows me behind, blabbing some words. I arrived at my locker, took my books, put them in my backpack, and closed the closet, letting out a sigh of frustration.
