romanian-american actress nesa vulture (pictured below) was recently announced to be playing the role of sadie 'absynthe' palmer in the upcoming avengers sequel, age of ultron.

the fandom has had mixed feelings about vulture, who celebrated her 18th birthday last december, being added into the marvel universe, with many saying the decision wasn't a wise one, while others are willing to give her a shot and see how she does.
most people are simply confused as to why marvel cast an unknown actress to play the part, so here are ten things you need to know about nesa v:
1. she was born on december 15, 1995, and has an older brother named aidan. we don't know much of him besides his existence, but it seems like the two are very close. nesa is a sagittarius.
2. her favorite marvel character is bucky barnes. who doesn't love him? in an on-set interview, nesa said that she was obsessed with absynthe when she was younger, but as she got older, she took a big liking to barnes as well, also citing actor sebastian stan's performance as the character as a big influencing factor.
3. her hogwarts house is hufflepuff. nesa has said that her favorite book and film series as a child was harry potter, and that she takes little aspects from characters such as hermione granger (emma watson) and luna lovegood (evanna lynch) as inspiration for her portrayal of absynthe. she has stated before that she is a hufflepuff, also noting that they are "particularly good finders".
4. she speaks romanian, english, and spanish. the first two are her first and second languages, but nesa stated that when she moved to america, she had to take a foreign language in school and chose to take spanish. she said it was a good class, but the teacher was terrible.
5. she is five feet and eight inches tall, making her one of the tallest females in the MCU. she is only an inch shorter than gwyneth paltrow (pepper potts) and kylie faye (adelaide rose), and the same height as iron man himself, robert downey jr.
6. she is a big fan of the guardians of the galaxy. in another interview, she said that she had always pictured someone like chris pratt as star-lord, and when she saw the movie for the first time, she felt like a psychic. she has also said that the soundtrack is one of her favorites.
7. she has a cat named jambo. the cat has been owned by nesa and her brother since she was ten, two years after they moved to the states. nesa has cited him as her best friend on her instagram.
8. her favorite marvel actors are sebastian stan and chris evans. we don't blame her! she stated she's always seen herself and her brother in their characters, and that the first captain america movie meant a lot to her personally—though this was a tough question for her to answer. we're excited to hear some awkward first meeting stories.
9. she's a big disney person. there have been videos shared by her co-stars of her and chris evans having jam sessions to the little mermaid soundtrack in between takes, angles, and scenes. she also stated that before she started acting, she wanted to work at disneyland as a skipper on the jungle cruise.
10. she's a marvel superfan. she apparently made a fan account on both instagram and twitter before she even auditioned for the role. she has stated that both accounts still exist and she still uses them from time to time.
