Loki came home from his first day at work, smiling. He had not expected to have that much fun. Working was not so bad and it was nice talking with Nicole about books. She had good insights about the concepts and themes of books. She also apparently had an extensive knowledge of movies. Loki chuckled to himself as he remembered the tail end of their conversation.

"The ending is better in the 1995 movie."

"What's a movie?" Loki asked with a smirk.

"You don't know what a movie is?" Nicole was practically exasperated.

"I'm kidding," Loki said half laughing, "I know what a movie is, I've just never seen one."

"You've never seen a movie?" Nicole seemed utterly confused at the mere concept, "How? I mean you've been on earth for how long and you haven't seen a movie yet?"

"Well, to be perfectly honest, I don't see the point of watching something you've already read."

"It helps you picture what happened in the book."

"Well, if you want to picture it then just make an illusion, there's no need to waste two hours of your life."

"Not everyone can make illusions, Loki," Nicole said, inclining her head towards him. After a moment she continued, "You know what? I'm forcing you to watch Pride and Prejudice; its five hours long, but its entirely worth it."

"I don't have a choice in the matter, do I?"

"Nope!" Nicole smiled.

She has a lovely smile, thought Loki, as he smiled to himself. He sat down on the couch and pulled out Thors laptop. He opened the computer and clicked on the browser. He typed in "Pride and Prejudice 1995."

The next day Loki went into work and found Nicole sitting behind the desk. He walked up to her with a smirk on his face.

"What?" she asked when she saw him, "You have the I know something look on your face."

Loki shook his head with a forced confused look on his face, 'I have no idea what you are referring to."

"Oh come on," Nicole put down the book she was reading and leaned toward him, "Tell me."

"I think I figured out why you like that movie so much."

"Wait, did you watch it?" she asked in surprise and also, it seemed, annoyance, "I wanted to be there for that!"

Loki waved his hand, "No, no, I just did a little research."

"Okay, and?"

"It's the actor isn't it?"

Nicole blushed, "Well, only partly..."

"AH HA!" Loki smirked in triumph, "I knew it!"

The two burst into laughter and were promptly shushed by some people sitting nearby. Nicole covered her mouth and gave a snort. Loki smiled to himself.

"I don't know why you hate your laugh so much," he remarked.

"You would too if you sounded like a pig everytime you found something funny," Nicole countered.

"I think your laugh is cute," Loki said, turning towards the desk so as not to meet her eyes.

If he had met her eyes, however, he would have seen a mix of astonishment and gratitude. He would have also seen that Nicole was blushing. Almost as much as he was.

"No one's ever said that to me before," Nicole said quietly, "Brodie usually tells me to stop laughing like that."

Loki spun around anger visible on his face, "He what?' he exclaimed, then he changed his expression to one of calm and sighed, "Well, he's wrong. You shouldn't try to change something as unique as a laugh, it's like trying to change part of who you are."

Nicole smiled, "We should get to work."

"Of course." Loki went to the book return and put the books on a cart.

While he was reshelving Loki thought about what Nicole had said about Brodie.

How could anyone not like that laugh? Loki thought, Why would he want her to change something about her that makes her who she is? Her laugh was adorable.

Loki found himself wishing he could hear it again. It was like music to his ears. Beautiful music the likes of which he had never heard before. He liked her laugh, it was contagious. After a while Loki realized how much he was thinking about Nicoles laugh and forced himself to stop smiling and thinking about it.

"Hey, Loki," Nicole whisper-shouted from behind, "You want to get lunch?"

Loki turned around, "What time is it?"

"10:00." Nicole said, looking at her watch.

"It's not even 12:00 o'clock and you want to get lunch?" he asked, a little confused.

"Okay, let's call it second-breakfast then, or early elevenses," Nicole said, "Point is, I'm hungry and I'm going to go get food, do you want food?"

Loki chuckled, "Sure."

"Okay." Nicole walked back around the shelves, leaving Loki smiling to himself.
