Bani felt herself slowly falling into a black hole as she watched the love of her life walk away. She whispered out his name one last time hoping that with some miracle he would remember their time together and come running to her. Veer... Bani closed her eyes now and let her last tear fall.
Veer rushed out of the area that he suddenly found himself in that morning and wandered the deserted road to find his car. He turned on the panic alarm and could hear it somewhere in the distance. Once he got to it, he buttoned his shirt up, sat inside there, and slammed the door shut. Fuck my head...Why can't I remember anything? Veer held onto his head groaning in pain and slammed his hand on the steering wheel. As he looked around the car for his phone a thought struck his mind. Bani...will she be okay? He caught his reflection in the mirror and for that split second couldn't recognize himself. Instead of seeing the darkness in his eyes that he once was so used to seeing, for a moment, he saw love. Love for Bani. Shit...why am I even thinking of her? Sambaal apne aap ko Veer. Tum ek cheel ho...voh tumhaari dushman hai. Where the fuck is my phone?! He now opened the glove box to see if perhaps he had left it there. He thought to text Meera his GPS location so she could come and take Bani home. Even in his altered state he was concerned for her.
As he scoured through the papers trying to find his phone he saw something. It was a receipt from his family jeweller. Veer read the date and what was purchased. A gold ring under the name of Veeranshu Singhania and the special instructions were to have it ready in an hour and use the ring that he provided them. There was another receipt as well. This one was for a silver bangle with pearls and the note on this read that the jeweler is to inscribe 'V.B.' with a heart and the date that they got married. Veer dropped the receipt on the seat and now felt a piercing pain at the top of his head. He closed his eyes and screamed in agony. He tried to fight the thoughts running through his mind but he couldn't help but slip into the memories of his wife. He saw fragments of how he pushed her at the party after he stared out the window, him apologizing to her shortly after, taking her to the tent on a date, saying I love you and proposing to her properly, and then spending hours in each other's arms making love. He was frustrated that he could not piece all of this together. As he tried to make sense of everything he saw a faint purple light invading his memories. Veer held his thigh trying to still his body as it shook in excruciating pain. He felt something sharp in his pocket and opened his eyes and then took the object out. It was a gold ring. Veer looked at it carefully and finally remembered everything. He whispered Bani...Bani...fuck...what did I do?! Veer opened the door of his car and ran back to the tent. He was completely lost and could not remember how he had even got there in the first place but he tried his best to find his way back to his sweetheart.
Finally, after he found the tent and flung the curtains open he saw Bani still collapsed on the floor with the blanket around her. Bani! Veer ran up to her and took her in his arms. He tapped her face and began to cry when he felt how cold it was. Sweetheart...please. Dekho main agaya. Baby, please aankhein kolo. I...I love you...I remember Bani...Bani I can't live without you. Please don't leave me. Please. He kissed her face all over and checked her pulse. It was there, but barely. Veer placed his lips on hers and warmed her body up by hugging her tight. Sweetheart I'm here. Bani I'm not ever leaving you...we belong together. Please baby look at me. If you leave...Bani I will leave too. He brought his face down to hers and sighed in relief when he heard her slightly breathing. Bani's heartbeats were almost completely faded now. She let go of everything. She didn't want to live a life like this anymore. Convincing her Veeranshu once was enough, she wasn't sure if she could go through this death-like feeling over and over again. Bani was about to take her last breath and pray to Bholenaath that he protects her husband when she felt a familiar warmth around her body and smelled her husband's fragrance. She opened her eyes halfway to see her Veeranshu looking around the room in panic and then back at her. Bani...you're okay...baby I'm here. I'm back Bani. Yes, Bani open your eyes.
