Hmm. I'm listening. Veer replied. Bani looked up with softness in her eyes and tear trailing down her cheek. Veer kissed her forehead and whispered Baby...if you're not ready...it's okay sweetheart. I understand. It's been five years. Waqt lagge ga. Bani cried even more at how caring he was. She was afraid of what his reaction would be after she tells him the biggest secret she has been keeping from him. She was afraid he would hate her for this and be completely shattered. It would be the end of their marriage once and for all. Veer pulled her into his embrace and rubbed her back. Jaanu...you're scaring me. Aisa kya hogaya? He asked. Bani whimpered and said in a low voice. I...I have...have to go back...to Paris. Veer stopped rubbing her back. No...no...you're not...no Bani. You're not doing this right now. No. He turned around and put his hands on his ears, refusing to hear a single word come out of her mouth. Bani cried and said Veer...I have to...I need to go. Veer turned around and looked at her with a disgusted expression. Toh yeh sabh...sabh ek naatak tha? Hugging me, telling me you love me, will never leave me and Vani. Why are you playing with our emotions like this? Is this all just a game to you? Bani whimpered and then tried to cup his cheeks but he pulled away.
Jaan please. Please muje jaane do. Veeranshu...mera koi hai vahaan. Jiski...jiski vajjah se main iss paanch saalon ke liye jee paayi. I...I can't leave him...he's a part of me Veer...Veer stopped circling around. He turned around slowly and shook his head. He refused to believe this. You...you...you moved on? He asked, and stepped back. He couldn't believe his ears. Was their love that weak? Bani's eyes opened wide and she shook her head. Nuy...no...no...aisa nahi. Veer! How...how can you even think that? Main tumse pyaar karti hoon. Move on kya, main kissi aur mard ko aise dekh bi nahi sakhti. Yeh dil sirf tumaare liye dadakh tha hai. Veer sat down on the bed with a thud and it was now that she noticed his heavy breathing. Bani sat down too and rubbed his chest. Baby shaant hojaao...main vaapas aaoongi. I promise. I will never leave you or Vani...bass...I...I have to go...I can't stay here...Veer put his hand up, and refused to hear a single word. No. I lost you once. I'm not losing you again. Chaahe muje firse koi shield rakhna padde, passport rakhna padde. I don't give a damn. No...no...you can't leave me. Tum yahi raho gi. Mere paas. Apni Vani ke paas. Bani put her forehead on his shoulder and finally said it. She braced herself for his wrath.
Vansh...Veer stopped. He turned his head and scrunched his eyebrows. V...Vansh? He asked. Bani hid her face even further and began to hiccup and wail. I'm sorry...maine...maine bauhat badda paap kiya...I...I shouldn't have...shouldn't have...I'm disgusted when I look at myself in the mirror...Now Veer was worried. He cupped her cheeks and said Kya hua? What happened baby? Kissi ne zabardasti ki tumaare saath? Is his name Vansh? Tell me now Bani. Tell me! Bani looked at his blood shot eyes and shook her head, eyes lowered in shame. Veer's face contorted with confusion. Toh...kya? Who is this Vansh? He asked. Bani stopped and stood up. She walked over to her purse and took something out. It was a picture. She came back to Veer with shaky hands and gave it to him, then cried and fell to the ground. When Veer looked at the picture he recognized his Vani wrapped in a pink blanket but the baby next to her he didn't know. He had a caramel complexion, had curly brown hair, a small pink nose, and was wrapped in blue. Yeh...yeh toh Vani hai. He said, pointing at the baby in pink. Bani nodded and banged her head on the floor. She felt her throat closing up.
Veer...Vansh...Vansh...Veer...anshu...Vansh...Veer was confused. He looked at the baby again and then noticed something. Someone's arm was wrapped around him. He recognized the ring. It was Bani's. He looked closely at the baby and noticed that he looked like Veer when he was a baby, except a little darker. The same curly hair, dimpled cheeks, cheerful expression. Veer stood up and gulped. He looked back down at Bani and felt like he was in a dream. V...V...Vansh? He asked. Bani looked up nose and cheeks pink, and chin wrinkled as she cried like there was no tomorrow. Veer pointed at the picture, then at himself and started to sob uncontrollably. Vansh...mera? Mera Vansh? He asked. Bani nodded and folded her hands. I...I'm sorry Veeranshu...I kept...I kept...your baby boy...our Vansh...our Vansh from you...I'm sorry...I'm sorry...Vansh aur Vani...I...I...Veer collapsed on the ground and looked at the picture. Bani's sobs and screams had completely been shut out from his ears. Vansh...mera Vansh. Vansh Singhania. Mera rajkumaar. My boy....Veer said as he laughed with happy tears rolling down his cheeks, and trailed his finger along his tiny face.
