Veer cried for several minutes until it struck him. He looked around, wiped his tears and then ran to the closet. Bani looked up in confusion and stood up slowly. When he came back he had a suitcase and his passport in his hands. Veeranshu...Bani whispered. Veer frantically began to type and was muttering things under his breath. Mera beta...my son...Vansh. He said. Bani came up to him and saw what he was doing. He was booking the first ticket to Paris. Bani gulped. How would she break the news to him? Baby...she whispered again. Veer threw the phone on the bed because of the poor wifi signal and then opened their wardrobe and pulled random clothes out. She cried as she saw him throw everything in the suitcase without a care in the world. Baby baath toh sunno...she said.
A moment later he picked his phone back up and began to look for the next flight. Veer...please...please baath sunno. Bani whimpered. Veer scrunched his eyebrows in annoyance. The next flight wasn't for another eight hours. Nuy...main...main udhke jaaoonga. Voh akela hai. My Vansh. My prince...he started to cry again and then looked at the picture on the bed. Veer laughed and then picked it up and kissed his face. My prince is coming home. I'm coming Vansh. I'm coming. He spread his arms out to bring out his wings and that's when Bani lost it. She snapped at him and said Hosh mein aao! Paris udhke jaao ge?! Paagal toh nahi hogaye?! Veer then shouted back Ha hogaya! Mera beta, our Vansh is there! How could you leave our baby like that?! How could you do that Bani?! Tumaari mamta ko kya hua?! He asked and held her shoulders. Bani cried and lowered her head in shame. Veer gripped her arms tight, eyes bloodshot with anger. I...I'm sorry...I...I don't deserve...don't deserve to be a mother...I wish...I wish everyday...I had died...giving birth. At that Veer stepped back. He imagined his wife, the mother of his children, his best friend and soulmate laying there lifeless. Finally he snapped out of it.
Bani...main...Veer cried and put his forehead to hers. Kyun...kyun nahi bataaya? He asked. Bani shook her head, moving away from his touch. Why did God keep me alive? I'm horrible. I kept our Vansh...our Vansh from you...Veer sighed and cupped her cheeks. He kissed her soaked face and ran the pad of his thumb along her jawline. Main...main naaraaz nahi. He whispered. Bani groaned and turned around. She was disgusted with herself. You don't deserve me...you deserve better...Bani said. Veer back hugged her and kissed the side of her neck. Why did you keep Vansh? He asked. Bani smacked her face and hysterically said Main burri hoon isliye. Burri hoon. I was selfish. Selfish selfish selfish! As she tried to slap her face Veer held her hands and cried. Bani...shhh...jaanu...she fell to the ground, unable to breath now. She recalled that day and cried as she told him...
. . .
Abhi bi dard ho raha hai? the paditayaan had asked. Bani nodded and put her hand to her stomach. Kuch ajeeb sa lagg raha hai. Bani said in pain. The panditayaan caressed Vani's cheek as she wrapped her lips around Bani's buds and tried to suck. Kitni pyaari hai. Naam kya socha? Bani cried and kissed her forehead. Vani. Veer ne ek baar kaha tha. Veer aur Bani...Vani. Vani Singhania. Apne papa ki parri. She cried at the thought of leaving her. But she had to. There was no way she would be able to take care of her, and most importantly keep Veer's daughter from her. Bauhat pyaara naam hai. Ek bhaar fir sochlo...main...main paalne mein maddat karsakhti hoon. Bani shook her head, tears of happiness streaming down her cheeks as she felt Vani sucking on her milk now. Nuy...meri Vani apne papa ke paas rahe gi. Main chaahti hoon ke uski zindagi mein kushi ho. Vani kush rakhe gi apne papa ko. Hai na meri parri? Apne papa ka khayaal rakho gi na? At that Vani opened her eyes and looked up at Bani. She let go of the bud for a moment and smiled at her mom as she pinched her cheek and laughed.
Ugh...aahh...Bani began to squirm. The pandityaan took Vani and put her in the cot. Aap theek ho? Itna dard...kahi maine kuch galat toh nahi kiya...she worried she made a mistake when helping her give birth. Suddenly Bani's hips thrust forward and she screamed Veer! Veeranshu! Aaahhhh! The panditaayan panicked and pulled the blanket up. She spread Bani's legs and was shocked. Aap...aapp....Bani cried and threw her head side to side. Veer....she cried again. The panditayaan gasped and was amazed by God's miracle. Zorr lagaaye! She cried out loud. Bani panted and looked at her in confusion. Kya? She asked. The panditayaan saw the head and cried happy tears. Ek aur...ek aur..ek aur bacha! Bani was so confused. She felt like she was dreaming. The panditayaan had only seen one baby when she saw her future. How was this possible? Bani threw her head back overcome with pain. She pushed and imagined Veer sitting next to her, crying and holding her hand as their baby came into the world. Ugh! Aahhhhhh! She pushed and pushed, completely exhausted. Vani was born swiftly in five minutes and didn't give her mom any trouble, but her brother or sister was giving their mom a run for her money. Finally after a gruesome hour he was born. Bani cried as the panditayaan put the baby boy to her chest. He cried and fisted his hand on her chest, already annoyed. Bani laughed and kissed his face all over. My miracle baby...meri zindagi mein ek toofan ki tarrah aaya aur kitna satayaa. Bilkul apne papa ki tarrah...Vansh...Vansh Singhania...
