Klaus woke with a jolt, hyperventilating. He was grateful the instant he felt a comforting hand rubbing his bare back and gently shushing him.

"Breath, it's okay..." Y/N spoke. She was somewhat irked at the man she was consoling, but he didn't need her anger right now.

"You know you talk in your sleep?" Ben noted, glancing up from the book he was reading.

"Oh..." Klaus panted, moving to stand up and dig around the living room. Scanning the table, the couch he slept on, the cabinet, the bar. Yet, he failed to find what he was searching for.

"There's no point, you're out of drugs." His brother informed him.

"Shut your piehole, Ben." Klaus snapped for a moment. Ben glared at his fiancee who was trying not to giggle in this very serious situation.

"Said with love..." Klaus amended, blowing the other man an air kiss.

"I've got a crazy idea," Ben started, "Why not try starting your day with... a glass of orange juice or some eggs?" he smiled, trying to sell the idea.

Y/N nodded along, "Maybe those waffles you wanted last night?".

Klaus sighed happily when he spotted a cigarette, he grabbed his lighter out of his coat pocket and lit the object of his desires as he responded to the two people looking at him with a mix of disappointment and concern.

"Can't smoke eggs and waffles." He stated.

"I mean if you try really hard..." Y/N began, moving to sit next to Ben but she was shushed by another look from him.

"You didn't make it home last night..." he finally closed his book and leaned forward. Klaus inwardly groaned at the lecture he knew was coming.

"Y/N and I were worried sick! We looked all over town for you. Even the police station, but we found Diego there instead... which did not make us any happier.".

Y/N cut in now, placing a hand on Ben's thigh. "Diego said he dropped you home." She pointed out.

Klaus nodded reluctantly, "Yeah but... there was this rave going on at one of my favorite bars andddd..." He ended with happy jazz hands.

The couple on the couch sighed and shook their heads. They looked at each other, then at Klaus, then at each other, then at Klaus, then at each other. Klaus was sick of the concerned stares.

"I'm sorry my dearest mama and papa, for going behind your back." He exaggerated his sentence by placing one foot on the coffee table and spreading his arms wide. Such a drama queen.

"We just get concerned because we love you." Y/N's small voice and Ben's big, expressive eyes made Klaus feel bad and he went to stand behind the couch they rested upon. He tossed his cigarette, wrapped one arm around each of them and gave them a kiss on their hair.

"I'll be fine! I've never died before, so I'm basically immortal!" He chuckled at his own words, and the other two rolled their eyes but smiled at his silliness.

The sound of someone clearing their throat broke the sweet moment, and the three pulled apart abruptly to look at Pogo who stood in the entrance to the living room.

"Christ on a cracker!" Klaus exclaimed at his appearance.

"My apologies..." The old ape began, limping forward.

"But I have a query, for you Master Klaus.".

"Oh?" Klaus was surprised.

"Items from your father's office have gone missing. In particular, an ornate box with pearl inlay." Pogo went on.

"Really?" The three present umbrella academy members all voiced together. Ben and Y/N looked at Klaus like shocked parents.

"You don't say..." The junkie muttered.

"Any idea where it went?" Pogo asked.

Klaus paused, becoming suspiciously silent. The ape met the gaze of the other Hargreeves brother, and the latter sighed deeply. He had a very good idea of where that box may have gone.

"No, no, no. No idea." The half naked man expressed. "Sorry.".

"Liar." Ben declared.

"Box thief." Y/N deemed him.

The liar/box thief scoffed, turning to them, "Drop dead!".

"You first." Ben childishly stuck his tongue out at his brother.

"Would you shut up!" Klaus exclaimed.

Pogo looked between the bickering siblings. He didn't want to put up with another fight between two Hargreeves brothers, although he knew Klaus and Ben were much less likely to begin throwing punches than Luther and Diego. Still, he began limping away.

"Pogo wait!" Y/N halted him upon hearing the thump, thump, thump of his cane. The brothers quit arguing.

Klaus ran a bit to go stand close to his old family friend. "Sorry Pogo, You know, there's been a lot of stuff I've been dealing with. Just a lot of memories coming up. All those good times. Well, not so much good times as really awful, terrible, depressing times." He breathed deeply after the longest thing he'd said that morning, then waited for Pogo to say something.

"The contents of that box are... priceless. Were they to find their way back to the office, whoever took it would be absolved of any blame or consequences."

"Oh... well, lucky bastard." Klaus said in response to that.

Pogo clicked his tongue, "Indeed." He then disappeared into the entrance hall.

Number Four turned back to his companions, and found Y/N stretched out across Ben's lap, her eyes closed.

"You're going to sleep this late in the morning?" He chided, watching her eyes blink open in annoyance.

"Your brother and I got no sleep last night because we were worried sick about you! You don't get to judge Mister!" With that, she closed her eyes once more. Ben stroked her hair in an attempt to lull her to sleep.

"Oh... well then, don't mind if I justtt..." Klaus made his way to the couch and lay down next to Y/N, squishing her in the process. She yelped. He copied the woman in using Ben's thighs as a pillow, but the man in question wasn't having it.

"Ouch!" Klaus whined upon landing on his butt on the floor after Ben pushed him off the couch. Y/N snickered.

"You can come back once you get that box back to dad's office." He told his brother, ignoring his pout.

Klaus made exaggerated gestures as he stood. He groaned excessively, but he knew that he had to find what was in that box. So he begrudgingly made his way to the dumpster he had thrown the things in yesterday.

"Maybe we're a bit hard on him." Y/N whispered softly once he'd left the room.

"Maybe." Ben admitted, moving to lay down next to her. "But he's basically our son at this point, and we need to take care of him. You know, parent duties and all." He joked.

Y/N chuckled lightly, "Well, you'd give old Reggie a run for his money any day.".

"Thanks, honey. Although judging by his parenting, I'm not sure that's a compliment.".
