Chapter 11.

Kai's POV.

  I was woken up by a ringing of an alarm going off next to me but it wasn't mine.
My surrounding was unfamiliar. I was sleeping on the ground next to a bed. I'm at Evelyn's! I told myself. I pulled myself up from the ground a little, peeking up wanting to see if Evelyn is still sleeping on the bed.  The bed is empty. No sign of Evelyn up there.
    That's when I was shaken by a shuffle of sound behind me. I sat up and looked beside me. There she was, sleeping peacefully on the ground next to me. Curled up in the blanket, few of her golden locks laying on her face. In loss of words I admired her beauty silently not wanting to wake her up.

* Beep- beep- beep- bee- *

Her alarm went on again, making her whine and move. I couldn't think of what to do, it's like my brain stopped processing. I tried to turn the other way but was stopped when she spoke.

" Kai, you're up? " She asked, her soft gentle voice now raspy.

I stayed silent for a moment then turned to face her. " Good morning! " I said.
" Good morning, " she replied her cheeks turning a shade of pink.

" Why didn't you sleep on the bed? " I asked sitting myself up.
" Because I felt bad sleeping on the bed when you're down here, so I got down too." she spoke getting up.
" but, we made a deal.. I would've gotten on the bed if I knew before. " I said sarcastically earning a soft laugh from her.

" Enough now, go get ready you have school today. " She spoke while folding up the blankets.
I let out a sigh at the thought of going to school as I made my way to her washroom.

After both of us were ready, she made us some breakfast and tea.
" I'm not going to school today. " I said taking a bite from my bread.
" Why is that? " She asked placing her cup down. I shrugged my shoulders as a ' I don't know ' which she didn't seem to accept as an answer.
" You're going home now, getting your things and going to school understand? " She questioned rather ordering.
" Alright, I'll see.. " I mumbled under my breath that she heard.
" What did you just say? " She asked with a slight smile on her face.
" Nothing.. " I replied with a sheepish smile making her laugh.

4 missed calls - mom, 5 missed calls and 7 text messages - Steve, 1 text message James.

I checked my phone as I entered the house.
" So now you've decided to come home? " I was startled when mom spoke from the kitchen.
I couldn't inform them last night. I mean how would I remember to inform when I was at Evelyn's- guilty. I walked slowly over to the kitchen where she was sitting.

" Mama, I'm sorry! " I said sliding into the seat next to her.

" Sorry?! I wouldn't even take you in.. if James hadn't told me. "
James? He told her something, when... What did he say.. I'm busted. 
" Uh- aha- y- yeah.. " I slightly laughed, wanting to slip out of here.
" So, how're you feeling now? Better? " She asked making me confused. What is she talking about.. what exactly has he told her.
" Maa, what did James tell you about me? " I blurted out without thinking twice. She gave me a quick glance and went on.
" When you didn't answer your phone, I called James since you'll went out together. He told me that you stayed over at his place after getting caught in the rain. Then he told me you got a cold and was sleeping. "
My boy is a genius! He did well, he deserves a treat this time.

" Oh - yeah mom, I'm alright now. " I said giving her a slight smile to which she gave me a suspicious frown scanning my mind through. Shit... Shit! Gotta get out of here!  I got up instantly.
" Uh- I'm going to get ready for school! " I said running up the stairs.

I packed my things and changed. I don't feel like going to school today but I can't stay home at this rate. I threw my bag over my shoulders and head downstairs. Mama was cleaning the dishes.

" I'm going Mama! " I said placing a kiss on her cheek.
" This time if you're not coming just tell us. " She said keeping her eyes on the dishes.
I nodded in agreement, and head out.
Grabbing some snacks on the way, I drove where my mind told me to.
