Bang, bang, banging on the wall
Then silence followed for giggles galore
I can hear Dad tell you no more
It's time for snoozes and snoresBut you have not interest in sleep
Of quieting down and not making a peep
You don't want to lie down and count sheep
And fall into a slumber, refreshing and deepYou roll, you giggle, you squeal
While your Dad knows that this is not ideal
To getting you to fall into that real
Deep sleep because of how tired you feelBut You refuse to go to sleep
You refuse to lie down and count sheep
You want to be loud, not quiet and meek
It's not time for slumber, refreshing and deepBut the song that is sung is so calming
And You feel your eyes start falling
And the pats on Your back aren't waning
They are strong, firm and keep comingAnd no longer are Your refusing to sleep
No longer refusing to lie down, You're not making a peep
You're quiet, not loud, and You're never meek
Slumber has hit, loving, refreshing and deep.
