Ice and Mischief - Loki Love Story

Chapter 5

*Crystal Pov*

Glancing at my reflection in the water of the lake I saw I was covered in dirt and ash. The water began to freeze over as I growled. Sighing I knew it would be better to listen to Thor's words but yet again I refused to listen. Seeing in the distance I saw the portal being opened as I breathed in calmly and opened my palms as snow began to swarm around me.

I watched as my blonde hair became clean and in its braid over my shoulder, the suit melted away and was replaced with traditional Guardian armour. I had royal blue knee boots, white leather pants, and a white tunic with a breast plate that hugged my figure and a blue cape flowing down my shoulders and trailing slightly at the ground. I was going to war, whether Thor wanted me to or not.

Keeping myself calm I lifted my palms towards the sky as I watched the clouds begin to darken dangerously, they seemed to rumble and the air grew cooler as I took one step on the lake with it freezing underneath me. Smirking I watched a runway of ice form with each step I took as I seemed to glide faster as though I was walking on air. I could hear screams and cried as I made my way deeper into Manhattan.

Chitauri were blasting their guns, blowing up cars and everything in their path. As one jumped out from the side I raised my wrist as it froze over into a sculpture before I kept walking in hope to find the others. Glancing up towards the portal I froze for a mere second when I saw thousands more of the Chitauri soldiers and Leviathans fly out. Seeing the group in the distance I smiled running towards them.

Hawkeye and Stark flew up towards the building and away from sight by the time I got there. The Captain was instructing the others before they were shocked to see me. Thor however wasn't every please what's so ever, but I refused to stand by and do nothing.

"I will try and stop whatever comes through the portal and figure a way to close it. It's about to get very cold" I warned as they smirked and nodded. I glanced at Thor as he sighed before grapping me around the waist and flying us to the top of the building.

"Thanks" I appreciated before he flew off. Allowing the skies to darken a storm of white snow began to form in a dome over the portal as those who were trying to fly out froze over and dropped from the sky. Unfortunately my attention to the opening of the portal didn't go unnoticed by the Chitauri as several flying soldiers began to fire in my direction causing me to break focus.

Sending shards of ice and stepping back I hadn't realised they were drawing me over the edge of the building until my foot had slipped and I let out a cry. Feeling myself being caught I found myself in Loki's arm as he smiled happily yet concerned at me as I winced at his tight hold on my waist.

"Loki, you have to stop this!" I plead with him as he shoves me to the side and turns back to watching the Chitauri destroy the city.

"And after you claim earth what next? Will it then be enough for you or will you then demand control of the other Realms? LOKI! This path has no end! You will never have full satisfaction you will just desire more power." I scream as he turns towards me with a pained look. Turning in time to see the Hulk flying in their direction with a soldier firing over him I let out a cry of warning to Loki.

Feeling a sharp pain in my side I dove to the side to avoid being smashed by the hulk only to resolve in hitting my head rather hard as I groan. Hearing over my earpiece that Loki's sceptre could close the portal I saw it lying on the balcony as I winced getting up before running to grab it. I looked up towards the roof and drew in a deep breath before I allowed the winds to carry me up as I stumbled on my landing. Glancing over I saw Selvig, typing away at his laptop furiously as Natasha spots me with the sceptre and smiles, quickly taking it from my grip as I stand by and watch.

"I can close it! Can anybody hear me? I can shut the portal down!" She shouted over the raging battle as I continued to watch them come. We watched as Stark flew up towards the portal with a missile before vanishing into the other world. I let out a breath of relief before I grew concerned when he didn't return.

"Crystal!" Natasha cried as I turned to have a Chitauri soldier behind me attempting to stab me as I had an ice dagger form in my hand and cut into its heart. We watched as suddenly all the Chitauri soldiers and Leviathanskeel's fall over dead as we let out a small cheer. However there was still no sign of Stark anywhere.

"Come on, Stark..." They whispered. I watched desperately before Nastasha began to close the portal as I continued to watch the sky in desperate hope. I cried out as it just closed leaving behind Stark as he was falling from the sky, though I noticed he wasn't slowing down. With a roar I saw the Hulk grab him as I let out a sigh of relief and went to take a step only to collapse on my knees.

"Crystal!" Nastasha cried as she ran towards me. I felt my body going numb as I glanced down to my side to see the Chitauri's dagger pierced into my side. I could feel my body drift in and out of consciousness before I felt myself plunge into darkness.
