It took about five minutes to fly across the Atlantic ocean. Rose helped me by walking me through how to do something called a 'quantum jump,' this game's way of making ships fast enough to travel long distances in a short time, especially considering without it, it would take hours just to make it from the earth to the moon. As we flew the sky rapidly changed from the beautiful sunset we saw in New York to another beautiful view of the starry night sky.
Approaching London I saw that it was very different from New York. It still had an impressive city skyline but was a lot smaller than the first city. There was also visible snow everywhere and everything was bright white and gray colors, unlike New York's more dark gray and red coloring.
I followed Rose until she slowed down to a stop and told me to do the same.
"Ok, since this is the first time you have docked at any city, I'll walk you through the process."
She had my full attention by then.
"So first you want to go to any of your screens and hit the menu button on the top left corner. From there you should see six options, one of them looking like a WiFi symbol. Click on it."
Doing as I was told I navigated my way through the menu I found myself at the communications menu.
"You need to ask permission from the port to dock, there should be a list and at the top of it should be the contact for the Port of London. Once you click on that it should give you a hangar to dock at."
I continued to follow her instructions and sure enough, I heard a voice come through the comms telling me to go to hangar 5, along with a marker that showed me where it was.
"Alright, once you go inside, head to the elevator and take it to the lobby, I'll meet you there," Rose told me as she once again flew off ahead of me.
"Ok cool, I'll meet you inside then."
As I didn't get a response, I started flying in the direction of hangar 5. This one, unlike the one I left in New York, opened from the side instead of the top, so I had to maneuver myself around to the other side of the building before I could enter it.
I slowly aligned myself with the hanger before moving forward into it. As I got centered in the large area, I remembered that landing gear existed. I frantically looked around the many switches until I finally came across what I was looking for. Clicking it made a loud hissing sound as the legs of the ship descended. I only started moving again when a robotic voice told me the landing gear had been deployed.
When the ship touched the ground I got out of my seat and made my way to the door. When I opened it, the ladder automatically came down and I quickly made my way down and dashed over to the elevator on the side of the room.
As I got on the elevator, Rose asked why I was taking so long.
"I'm sorry, I wouldn't have taken so long if they didn't put the landing gear switch so far off to the side. It took me like 4 minutes just to find it!"
"I may or may not have forgotten about that, sorry!" she giggled.
"Ok well I'm on the elevator so I'll be there in a sec."
"Great, see you soon. Also, I'm going to end the call cus we're gonna be talking in person."
"Ok, see ya." As I said that, there was a beeping noise that indicated the call ended. I finally took a moment to take in this place. It felt much more clean and refined compared to the port in NYC. Everything was either white, light-gray, or sky-blue and it gave off a much more professional atmosphere to the place. There was also no cabling or wires running on the ceiling or the walls which also added to the refined feeling.
