[A/N]: MY RELIGION IS MARVIN GAYE BY CHARLIE PUTH YEAH? YEAH

            fifteenth chapter

"Louis, we will talk about the wedding soon, do not worry about it. I will join with Eleanor's parents to plan everything." The king announced at their table during luncheon. Johannah's hand rested on his, her lips pursed as he looks across the table and to Louis.

The prince cleared his throat, straightening his back further, "Is it not too early, Father?"

"What is?" Mark raised an eyebrow, "You are twenty-three, Louis. You are obligated to marry a maiden soon so you can take place in my position."

"Does it have to be Eleanor?" Louis bravely asked.

"Is Eleanor not good enough for you?" The king took a bite on his bread.

"She is a very nice woman, and she has become one of my friends, and that only." Louis said firmly, "We had a conversation during my mother's party, and neither of us want to be together even if we come in good terms."

"We are not having this argument, Louis." Mark said it with finality.

But Louis was determined to convince the king to pull off the wedding or any lifetime commitment between Louis and Eleanor, or any other maiden, for that matter, "We are, and I am not stopping until you let me marry someone who I actually want to be with and let me be happy."

"Louis William Tomlinson, I did not raise you to object to my decisions for you! I am leading you to the right path, and that path is to take my footsteps after you get married." The table had fallen silent, and the minstrels had stopped making music and left the room as the king gave them a look.

"Not only are you making my decisions for me, but you also put so much control on me. All my life, all I wanted was for you to be proud of me—"

"You want me to proud of you? Listen to me for once and perhaps I can give it some consideration." At Mark's words, the queen stood up, sending the girls off to their room as the two men of the family fought off for their opinions, and sides.

Louis scoffed, "You give me such heavy conditions, Father. I have my own limits, and I will not give myself to a woman who I have no fantasies in marrying."

"Who do you want, then?" Louis' breath hitched, "You do not want Eleanor? I can find you a lot of volunteering maidens all around town to throw themselves at you without hesitation."

"Mark." The queen spoke this time, "I do not find your words pleasant. You cannot shame these people adoring you, especially your own son. He has his own wants and needs, and you do not get to decide them at all."

"You are siding with him, Jay?" Mark stood up, towering over the queen, "He is nothing but a foolish menace lingering in our family. He does not listen to me, he does not participate well in his classes and he acts like he can do everything he wants."

Louis stood up as well, his chair screeching back, "You have no absolute right to speak those words about you especially if I do not do it in return when it comes to you, Father. As much as I despise your plans for my life, I still have some ounce of respect for you because you are my father, and I expect you to act like one to me sometime soon."

The king's breath turned heavily, his teeth gritted behind the tight line of his lips and his fists clenched. He bellows, "Get out of my sight, you regrettable failure!"
