chapter twenty-fifth
"I've talked to the messengers." Louis twirled a piece of curl. Harry shoots up from his position on his chest, eyes widening. Louis takes a moment to smile, his hand on Harry's chest.
"What did you say to them?"
"Well, first I asked them about your situation and explained it thoroughly. They protested. They told me they weren't aware of it happening and they promised to be careful next time." Louis slid his hand to Harry's neck.
"Oh." Harry settled down between Louis' arms, "That... that is good, then."
"I can hear your worry, darling." Louis pressed a kiss to his curls. They've got long enough to reach past Harry's shoulders. Louis loved it, "I did not mention them any names so you remain anonymous."
"No, it's not that." Harry said quietly, "The letter thing is solved, thank you very much for that, but now I'm worrying about my family. Our expenses doubled now that we have another addition to the family."
"I will help." Louis promised.
"But how?" Harry asked.
"I would tell you but you sound like a nervous wreck right now." Louis grabbed Harry's hand to lace their fingers together.
Harry sighed, "Just nothing risky, alright?"
"Of course." Louis whispered, "I would never put you in danger, Harry, never."
"I meant with you." Harry clarified, "You have to think of yourself, too. We can't let your father or anyone at all to get suspicious. I cannot be separated from you; I don't want that. If anyone notices that you've been so focused on helping me, they would get suspicious."
Harry was starting to get anxious as the second went by, and Louis shushed him gently, "Let us not talk about that anymore, my love."
"I apologize." Harry sighed, "I just want them to live a--""--Decent life." Louis supplied, smiling, "My darling, so passionate, but worrying wouldn't do you good. Problems do not last forever. Right now, we will rest ourselves before we have to part once again. Tomorrow, I will help you solve this."
Harry sighed. He wanted to just sneak out again, but this time to just run and visit his parents to their old home, but he can't leave. He didn't want to be forced quit in this high-paying job. He nodded, instead, "Alright. I am sorry... for... being all mouth-y about it--"
"Nonsense, love." Louis shushed him gently, "I love how you are such a huge family man. I adore you so much."
They fell asleep holding each other, but it was mostly Harry folded and covered by Louis' arms, firm and gently cuddling the sword smith to his chest. Later that evening, Louis had to once again wake up, leave and get back to the castle, and if he can, he would go back to sleep. He already had a plan embedded in his mind.

It was breakfast when Louis' plan backfired. His father had told him about their plan for that day. They'll be going to Wunderburg to, again, get together with Eleanor and her parents. Seeing Eleanor wouldn't be too bad, Louis concluded, but it was their situation and discussions he despised so much.
"But Father--" Louis had protested.
However, his father sent him a menacing look, "You already skipped on one meeting, Louis. You promised me the next time would not be the same."
