Max, Dustin and Ziggy called every number Dustin wrote down and crossed off everyone that didn’t know where Eddie could be. They didn’t even find a lead yet and it was starting to get frustrating. These were supposed to be his friends so someone had to know something that could help find him but so far they had nothing. There had to be someone who could tell them where Eddie could be hiding.

“Thanks for nothing,” Ziggy muttered as she hung up the phone and crossed off the number and name.

“I think I might have a lead,” Max said and Ziggy sighed with relief.

“Oh, thank God. Spill it, red,” she replied.

“Apparently, Eddie gets his drugs from this guy called Reefer Rick and sometimes he crashes there,” Max said.

“Shit, why didn’t I think of that? No wonder Eddie’s shit is so good,” Ziggy groaned and the others looked at her.

“You bought drugs from Eddie before?” Robin questioned.

“Just the weed and only because he gives me a fifty percent discount,” Ziggy replied while shrugging her shoulders.

“Anyway, here’s the problem. No one knows his last name or where he lives. He’s like a legend,” Max continued.

“I bet the cops have a last name and address,” Steve said.

“Come again?” Ziggy questioned with her arms crossed.

“I’m just saying. If this Reefer Rick actually is a drug dealer, I guarantee he’s been busted at some point which means he’s in the system,” Steve said while leaning over the counter.

“You wanna go to the cops? That’s your bright idea?” Ziggy asked.

“Well, I think they should know what’s been going on.”

“Let me get this straight. You wanna go to the cops, the same cops who are probably hunting Eddie down like he’s some rabid, wild dog, who won’t give him the benefit of the doubt because he’s a freak, right?” Ziggy questioned as she looked at him.

“All I’m saying is that I don’t think we can rule it out,” Steve said.

“That’s exactly what we’re trying to do right now. You’d know that if you actually helped out over here,” Max replied.

“Too bad he’s too busy looking for a girlfriend,” Dustin said and Steve scoffed.

“Guys, look. I know Eddie. I know that something horrifying happened last night that scared the living shit out of him and I know for a fact that if we go to the cops, they’re gonna put his name out there and it’s gonna be a witch hunt. Everyone will be out for his blood and his bones so we’re not going to the cops,” Ziggy said firmly.
