2: fooled

Geto Suguru halted in place the moment he made eye contact with a pair of seafoam green. They were eyes that he had seen in his dream and the familiarity tickled the back of his brain. Although he hadn't seen that person's face clearly due to the light a handful of hours earlier, it didn't stop him from recognizing the person sitting by the window.

It was that person from his dream.

Fate was something he never believed in. In fact, he only believed in cultivating one's future step by step, through hardwork starting from the moment one was born in this world. Suguru was born strong and making his own future wasn't difficult.

As one of the strong, he also believed in protecting the weak. Only when one was strong could one control their own future.

That was why Suguru felt this encounter in the real world with that person sent alarm signals into his head. It hadn't even been half a day since he had seen that pair of eyes in his dream but he had already met the owner in the real world.

In fact, Suguru was just overthinking but he didn't really know that.

"Yo, Suguru, what are you doing there looking stunned silly? Ieiri already reserved us the seats."

Gojo Satoru chirped beside him, eyes following the direction where Suguru's gaze was pointed at. Upon seeing a teen around the same age as them, with an air of fragility around him, Satoru whistled and nudged Suguru's arm.

Eyes as still as seawater swerved towards him and Satoru cheekily grinned, waving a hand to that person. The other paused his gaze on him, the corner of his lips twitching, before his attention shifted to the phone on the table.

"He's kinda cute," said Satoru. "He's your type?"

"Nonsense," denied Suguru as he lightly slapped his best friend at the back of the head. "Let's just go and take our seats already."

"Heh there's no point denying when you're still looking at him, Suguru."

"Shut it, fuckboy."

"You know that doesn't offend me, right?"

"Get moving, Satoru who's second on Shusei's most treasured person."

"Hey!" Came Satoru's offended shout. "I'm obviously Shushu's most beloved person!"

"Yeah, keep telling yourself lies. Maybe one day it'll come true... which it won't."

Meanwhile, Akiraka Anzen had been eavesdropping on that pair of teens all this time. When he heard Whitey call the person who he had seen in his dream Suguru, Anzen muttered the name under his breath. Suguru...

So, the fool is called Satoru. And the Shusei they just mentioned, that must be my little cousin. Anzen rested an elbow on the table, chin leaning against his hand while the other tapped a finger rhythmically on the table. How am I supposed to get into the Gojo Clan then? Should I just confront that fool upright and tell him who I'm looking for?

Thinking more about it, Anzen felt that it wasn't a good idea. Just hearing the fool talk about Anzen's cousin, he could tell that the fool protected that cousin with everything he could. Anzen sighed, his expression becoming gloomy.

Or I can just tell the elders that aunt and cousin died and be done with this stupid mission.

Anyway, he didn't have any relationship with them other than being blood-related relatives. If it was up to Anzen alone, he wouldn't be searching for them after so many years of uncertainty. Then again, I'm kinda curious what kind of person my little cousin is.
