Legend is a commonly well known novel. It's a fairly popular series. But I'm judging on this book only, I am not well acquainted with the other two.

Legend by Marie Lu is a very intriguing page turning novel. It is in fact a dystopian novel, and a bit cliche.We begin the novel with the character Day. Most wanted criminal of the republic and only 15 years old. Nice.

We begin the story with Day hidden behind the bushes when the republic soldiers walk into each house, breaking down doors, searching and testing each resident. Him and his friend, Tess- a orphan who grew to attached to him when he saved her from starving in the alleyway- stays hidden, away from the soldiers. They cant risk getting captured. These soldiers go house to house, getting blood samples, seeing who has got the plague.

Then plague is a big issue in the republic, taking lives of many, but mostly the poor. Every year a new plague would arise, and walah the scientist would have an antidote ready for the wealthy individuals. Strange,No?

But Day's family wasn't rich, more like the opposite. Usually these test would take around 10 minutes, but for some strange reason it took longer. Too long.

Eventually they left their house with a marking the big red X(for plague victim) on the door, but what was strange they put a mark straight through it's a X + l.

June

June is 15, sister of a well respected soldier of the republic. A military prodigy. But little miss prodigy was a rebel. Always training, sometimes, climbing up a fourteen flour building in 6 minutes and forty four seconds, outside of training camp base.

June scored a perfect 1500 on her trial. The trial is to test how you would serve for republic. She trains as much, if she needs to catch the most wanted criminal, Day then she hast to be smart.

Junes brother was the most caring brother out there. with having parents who died. Metias is the only one who she can count on and oh yea, thomas, her brothers friend

Day failed his trial getting the lowest score possible, but how could that be possible if he has incredible skill that despite all his crimes no one was able to capture him. They don't even know how he looks like.

Day always goes and passes by his house giving John,his older brother supplies for his family but now he needs more than just blankets he needs an antidote.
So Day makes a quick trip to the hospital, walks in posed as someone else, uses a fake ID and steals a couple anecdotes. Escaping was a close shot . Metias, June's older brother was on guard and Day hit him. Metias dies. Thomas, Metias best friend comforts June. She knows what to do, she must seek revenge, she must find Day.

She goes in search for day, and gets into a street fight with Kaede. Day mesmerized by June's stealthiness step gets interested in her and helps her escape the fight. Tess helps June to recover from her wounds. And they become friends.

June spends her Day, although he never tells her his name. They don't know who is who. But June gets suspicious. And her suspicions are conformed when she sees Day absentmindedly reaching for his necklace, that was torn off his neck at the hospital incident. June's suspicion is confirmed.

Will June do the correct thing and turn him in?
Or betray her loyalty to the republic?
