corey haim's point of view
"jesus," he sighs. "i thought you said the new serum wouldn't cause sickness."
there's a moment of silence between the two of them as they watch me.
"it's always gonna cause nausea and vomiting, that's how you know it's wearing off."
i try to catch my breath as i sit hunched over the very low-to-the-ground toilet. sweat is dotted across my forehead, soaking the tips of my hair, and the back of my neck is begging for a cold compress.
whatever they injected into my neck is burning from the inside and it's making my stomach turn at the same time.
"clean him up when he's finished." the brunette who's in charge of the serums, tells sev. "we have to get him to nevada."
i turn around at the sound of traveling to another state.
"it's time?" his co-worker asks.
the brunette opens his mouth to speak, but is distracted by me looking at them.
before i have time to say anything, or turn back around, or throw up one last time, his fist is meeting my cheek and everything fades to black at the immense pain.

kennedy white's point of view
"baby?" james' fist bangs against the bathroom door as my stomach empties into the toilet. "you okay?"
"great!" i call out, even though i'm definitely not okay.
it's not pleasant being woken up from your sleep having to run to the bathroom because your insides are twisting and turning and coming up.
i flush the toilet before standing up with shaky legs to go unlock the door and let him in.
"hey," he coos, standing behind me as i face the mirror.
i swish mouthwash around, watching as he plays with my hair, moving it behind my shoulders.
"do you think you're sick with something?"
i spit the mouthwash into the white sink, rinsing it down the drain with some water, "no. maybe it was the wine from last night."
"i'll make you some breakfast. you want toast and eggs or something?"
i smile, closing my eyes as i rest into his chest, "you make the best breakfast."
"i'll start it now." he kisses my temple and then heads out of the bathroom.
i watch myself in the mirror as i listen to his footsteps fade down the staircase.
