Avengers - One shots

I just want to make it clear I don't have autism nor do I have much knowledge of it. This is based on a little research I have done. If anything is wrong, please let me know so I can correct it. As well as this it does have a very breof mention of 'mental retardation' at  the very end, please know these aren't my personal views and if people take offense to this i will change this just let me know. It was an ordinary Tuesday morning in the tower, Peter was getting up and ready for school and the rest of the Avengers were sleeping. However just as he left his room and walked into the living room he was met with a small figure laid on the couch, cuddled into the blankets and watching cartoons. It was Riley Banner, she was 4 year old Bruce’s daughter. After a moment he went over and sat on the sofa next to her. She immediately picked up her fluffy, white teddy bear  and crawled into his lap, yawning. Peter soon noticed that she was rubbing her eyes ‘’Hey princess, are you tired?’’ she gave a small nod and curled into him. Peter picked up her blanket from the sofa and wrapped her in it, rubbing her back. He scolded her lightly when he noticed her sucking her thumb, he went into the drawer on the coffee table and pulled out a small, pink and white pacifier that had the words ‘little princess’ on it and passed it to Riley. Peter stood, gently rocking Riley back and forth as she fell asleep. When he was sure she was asleep he went over to her room and placed her on her bed and tucked her in. He quickly left the tower and headed for school for the day.

Later on when the rest of the team was having breakfast Steve noticed that Riley wasn’t there and so asked Bruce. He told Steve that Peter had texted him that morning and told him that she had been up early and would likely be tired so he was letting her sleep in for a while. After a few hours bruce was sat in his lab when riley walked in ‘’Papa, i'm hungry.’’ he walked over towards her and picked her up ‘’Let’s go get some breakfast then.’’ as they walked into the kitchen Riley began kicking Bruce and trying to get down, when he didn't put her down she began screaming ‘’Down! Down! Down!’’ over and over again. Eventually she began crying and hitting Bruce even harder, after a while he put her down so she didn't hurt herself during her meltdown. He was thinking about what had caused it when a strange smell filled his nose, it was Sam's curry. Sam immediately ran out of the kitchen when he heard the screaming. When he looked and saw Riley having a melt down he began feeling guilty, he knew the smell set her off but thought she was still sleeping and that it would be okay. Sam gave Bruce an apologetic look but Bruce returned it with a smile, understanding that it wasn't done on purpose.

A week later Riley was sitting in front of the TV colouring in one of her disney colouring books when all of a sudden Bucky began shouting for her ‘’Hey Riley, want some pancakes? There blueberry flavour just like you asked munchkin.’’ but Riley just continued colouring so this time peter tried ‘’Riley, pancakes are done.’’ yet still she just continued. After a few moments Bruce and Tony got her to eat her pancakes, after taking a single bite she screamed then continued eating as if nothing happened. Suddenly sharon spoke up ‘’Honestly kid are you retared or something!?’’ (Really sorry, please don't take offense to this!) everyone in the room froze. They all heard quiet sniffling and turned to see Riley crying and staring down at the table. The only sound other than Riley’s crying was the sliding of Bruce's chair as he left, green clear on his face. Tony got out of his seat and walked over to Riley, picking her up as Natasha practically spat at sharon ‘’She’s autistic you bitch.’’ and with that Sharon was kicked out of the tower by an all too pleased Happy and was banned from ever coming back.
